I've been wanting to do a Yuyuko-related theme for a while now since she is basically my favorite Touhou character.  Originally this was going to be a short and sweet 2 minute rendition of Ultimate Truth, but in the process of writing Night Sakura of Dead Spirits demanded to be in, so I ended up scrapping my original plans for where this was going to go.  (It was such a lovely texture, too - maybe it'll show up again in the future in some other song.)

I'd like to dedicate this song to all of my friends in the Touhou community - especially those that I had a chance to hang out with in person at the DC Sakura Matsuri two months ago.  Thank you for your kindness and generosity in welcoming me as a friend, and for the inspiration you provided for arranging this song.

Another track where the process was kind of hellish.  On the technical side of this: not as many crashes this time (compared to when I was doing Shikieiki's theme) because I've learned to work around hardware limitations a bit better, but I feel like it really limits the color palette of what I can work with.  Creatively - there were a lot of times where I feel like I lost the thread of what this was supposed to be, but I think I did some interesting stuff by the end.

I did end up watching Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso during the writing process of this one, which if nothing else kept me from giving up easily.  It's funny how the Dream Battle arrange came so easily in between writing this despite me knowing both of them fairly well on piano in the past.  I suppose there's less to express in a straight-up fight track, but maybe doing it refreshed my mental fatigue as well?
