In that time they’ve been an influential driving force in the discovery of new talent as well as continued supporters of the best artists in the underground scene."

"Our usual SlothBoogie radio shows highlight the latest new music we discover or get sent which invariably tends to be pretty pumping stuff mixed together with a dancefloor in mind. So every now and then me and Danny like to collaborate on a special one off concept mix that breaks away from that format and lets us zone in on a mood or feeling. A few years back we were in the midst of a crazy heat wave in the UK and made a Heatwave Refreshment mix to enjoy whilst London went on a full melt down. Fast forward to 2022 and we wanted to do something really special again for Stan Ray that would be full of easy going mellow and warming sounds to serve as a much needed mood booster."

Houseplant Paradise 8/6/22

For December 2022, Carhartt WIP Radio is welcoming UK record label @phantomlimbgroup. The imprint was launched in 2017 by musician and producer James Vella, along with some like-minded music enthusiasts, with the aim of bringing curious electronica and leftfield sounds to a wider audience. 
 
Now, the label covers a wide range of genres such as ambient, neo-classic, folk, hip hop, dub, electronic, as well as indie rock and minimal. Its ever-growing roster features artists like British composer Richard Skelton, Indonesian musician Senyawa, UK producer @lorainejames, and the up-and-coming Baltimore hip hop producer Infinity Knives (@jon-reed-9).
 
For this edition of Carhartt WIP Radio, Phantom Limb founder James Vella created a mix that, in his own words, functions as a “bird’s eye view” for new listeners, and highlights some “deep cuts from the vaults” for existing fans. The mix also offers a glimpse into Phantom Limb’s 2023. 

As ever, the show is accompanied by an interview with Vella, who discusses how growing up in a musical family led him to launch his own label; maintaining relationships with artists all around the world; and the “guts, teeth, brain and heart” of great music. www.carhartt-wip.com/journal/music
