Widely acclaimed Austin-based producer Qrion (real name Momiji Tsukada) announces her second album, We Are Always Under The Same Sky, set for release on January 17th via Anjunadeep. This follows her 2021 debut album I Hope It Lasts Forever, which was praised by Forbes as “stunning” and “a masterful production.” Alongside the album news, Qrion released a new single, "Hush My Heart," featuring South-East London rising star Josie Man. The melodic house track blends Qrion’s emotive piano chords with arpeggio melodies and Josie Man’s soft vocals, anchored by energetic beats. Additional production is by Joseph Ashworth, known for his work with LP Giobbi, DJ Tennis, Carlita, and KDA.

Earlier this year, Qrion shared her single "Miyanosawa," named after a small town in her hometown of Sapporo, Japan. The multi-layered, emotional track will be part of the upcoming album, alongside "Hush My Heart" and "Ice Palace," another recently released song. This album marks a significant moment in Qrion's career, representing a rebirth and a new phase in her journey, with her debut album focused more on reflections of the past.

Speaking about "Hush My Heart," Qrion explained that her first album was about past memories and family moments, but this track feels like a response to that. She highlighted her love for creating original arpeggio melodies, saying the track represents overcoming the past and rising above it. Despite its airy feel, the song features energetic breakbeats, making it danceable. Qrion expressed her joy in feeling mentally stable after a challenging two years and hopes the song inspires others, believing that people can become better if they try.

The theme of rebirth is deeply embedded in We Are Always Under The Same Sky, particularly as Qrion addresses her struggles with addiction and recovery after her father's passing. The album also celebrates female and non-binary South-East Asian talent, featuring collaborations with British-Kongese singer-songwriter Josie Man and Paris-based South Korean DJ, producer, and vocalist DIDI HAN. Qrion also teamed up with American-Chinese animator and designer Zee Yorke for all the accompanying album artwork.

Acclaimed Austin (TX) based producer Qrion shares her first taster of new music since the release of her 2021 debut album, with her single ‘Miyanosawa’ - a multi-layered, emotional builder filled with twinkling chords and a rippling beat, portraying a story swathed in memories, nostalgia and inspiration. Named after a small town in Sapporo, Japan, where she is from, ‘Miyanosawa’ was the final stop in a daily journey for Qrion to get to high school.

“Miyanosawa is a song about memories and nostalgia, about moments of realisation and inspiration, and ultimately about seeing the light and saying goodbye to your past. It’s been ten years since I made that daily journey, during which time I’ve experienced a lot of ups and downs. I finally feel like I’m able to say goodbye to my past.” - Qrion

The single follows two performances in London this month, at Village Underground and MOTH Club as part of all female line-ups for International Women’s Day, raising money for The Girls’ Network.

Born and raised in the snowy city of Sapporo, Japan, and now residing in Austin, Texas, Qrion takes inspiration from the robust environments at her whim. Making her own music in high school as a hobby by using her phone, Qrion’s signature sound oozes genuine artistry. She uses the noise of the world around her to create intimate songs anchored by energetic beats and lush synth textures.

ecognized by Spotify’s EQUAL Program with a billboard in New York City’s Times Square, Qrion demonstrated her meteoric rise throughout 2021: Qrion released her debut full-length record I Hope It Lasts Forever via Anjunadeep, her most breathtaking work to date. Along with the release of her single “Monolith” via Last Night On Earth, Qrion was awarded the title of DJ Mag’s 2021 Future Star and was included in Billboard’s 20 Best Dance Albums in 2021. In addition to her album, Qrion has taken her release schedule to the next level with remixes for Gabriel & Dresden, Flownn, Apashe, Catching Flies, and most recently, Röyksopp’s “Breathe".
