In Late 2023, Om Unit and Marta Pang were invited to perform a special performance at the Caixaforum in Barcelona. The invitees being ‘Lapsus’ who brought the pair together for a performance of 'Acid Dub : Redux’ as part of their DNIT series of events.

This cassette is a complete recording of the 45 minute session which consists largely of ‘ambient takes’ on some of tracks currently released from Om Units ‘Acid Dub Studies’ series, as well as some new material specially prepared for the show which featured live visuals by Marta Pang. Some clips of the visuals can be found in the 6-Panel full-colour J-Card booklet which accompanies the cassette.

‘Acid Dub : Redux’ is an unexpected tangent of Om Unit’s ongoing exploration of the 303-in-dub and features a more minimalist approach to the concept, using more of a sense of space to accompany the visual elements.

Pina Tesla - After All This Time [CLIPP241]

After a year of releasing sonically raw bangers, Pina Tesla makes her long play debut on clipp.art with the release of “After All This Time”. Exploring a full range of techno shapes, blending hard house intensities with atmospheric IDM, ghetto-tek influences, and the occasional splashes of ambient, the album arrives as a labour of love for the Turkish native. 

“Take It Back” is a heart-pounding reminder of post-hardcore energy, while “I Know You Think Of Me” and “Above The Clouds” are raw highlights of Tesla’s pulse-pounding versatility and vocal talent. “You’re the Only One” and title track “After All This Time” hit somewhere between modern Trip Hop and Dubstep, while previous cuts from her “Lullabies for The Clubs” EP such as “White Satin” roll fast on the abrasive edge between warehouse rave and cavernous techno. “Lullaby” dials up the rave atmosphere while infusing emotional undertones, creating a sound that is both intimate and powerful. 
Landing in a truly unpredictable moment of our history, “After All This Time” places the Istanbul based artist among a minority of DJ/producers bursting out on the clipp.art catalogue in recent years by capturing our unconsciousness with a mix of lofi sensibility, hard beats, and electronic textures. But it is a work we feel set to stand the test of time, lighting the flame of yet another rising star in the deepest recess of techno music.

Record Sounds Like: Breaks & left-field electronica similar to Machinedrum, Bonobo and Tourist

Nuage and pecq’s melancholy bit of summer nostalgia, ‘Night Air’, gets a makeover from three distinct, tastemaker producers: BAILE, QRTR and il:lo. These remixes capitalize on the somber, airy vocals and lush bells and pads that led to the original racking up over 400,000 streams.

Lush arpeggios and bending reverberated synths swell atop a crisp breakbeat in il:lo’s reimagining. The original vocals float atop the dream-like instrumental. QRTR heads the other direction, flipping the track into a left-field bass tune with glitching percussion and scattering vocal chops, broken up by sections of airy ambience from the original track.

As frequent collaborators, BAILE and Nuage have an effortless way of meshing their sounds, and BAILE’s rework of ‘Night Air’ is no exception. Accentuating the stuttering pianos and vocal chops, BAILE adds in a choppy breakbeat and bumps the tempo up, to create a DJ-friendly version of the original perfect for a daytime festival slot or a sunrise set at Burning Man.

New comer to the label Mod Sens delivers a 4 track EP taking references from ambient, dark garage and breaks to mould a fresh outing for Terrorhythm.
The Malmo-based producer grew up on the likes of Skream & Burial, which can be noted sonically throughout the EP in it's twists and turns, but particularly in Hollow - the opening track, drenched in dark atmospherics and lo-fi garage rhythms.
