QRUK hero Detwiler is back with his hugely unique style for QRUK008. Having seen amazing success with his previous release 'Belter Skelter' for 006, we had to get Detwiler back in the studio pumping out something new for us.

With his first remix on the label, we welcome our biggest name yet, 9TRANE. Norwich based and Claptrap founder, 9TRANE is already a big name in the UK Bass and breaks scene. His Back to 91' Mix of Detwiler's Made It Thru, uses classic breaks sampling with piano stabs, to pay homage to the UK Rave scene of the 90s.

Run & Hide has drawn inspiration from artists such as DJ Heartstring & Julian Muller, in the hope to create a Techno / Melodic / Euro / Trance kinda blend. Also featured on the EP is WHITE SOCKS which is pure and simply an old school Speed Garage track, hoping to help boost the UKG revival currently happening across the UK.


Brighton's deadliest selecta Jamie Unknown, has taken on the roll of remix extraordinaire. Having seen huge success with his most recent release, The Drumz (System Records), it made sense for Tommy to have Jamie on the remix in the hope of sharing some of Jamie's current glory... Mr Unknown took to the challenge with ease, throwing together a dark & heavy bass oriented UKG remix. What can't this man do?

For the 10th release and to mark 3 years since inception, QRUK's original Big Beat Servers collaborate on arguably their biggest EP yet and volume 1 in an ongoing big beat series.

The label's own Detwiler comes back strong as the first track for QRUK010. With his unmistakable crispy drums, layered over minimalistic vocals and baselines, you know what to expect with Detwiler in his delivery of bass music.

Fresh off the back of his release with Part4, Jamie Unknown takes the second spot on this large EP. Grit expands on some key elements that Jamie has been known for in previous QRUK releases such as Malfunktion. A true artist at heart, he doesn't stick to this genre but when he dips his toe, he smashes it out the park.

Finally the label's top banana Tommy Sunsets closes out Big Beat Servers for track 3. Aiming to further develop his sound from the previous release QRUK009, Alternate State lies at 140BPM and delivers all the energy and all the flava. A bright mix of Trance / Techno, touching on both the darker and lighter sides of both genres in a meer 7 minute ensemble.

Kabo Cana makes his debut on QRUK with I DONT UNDERSTAND, a warped and weighty EP that pulls from UKG, club and experimental sounds. The Manchester-based producer has been making noise with high-energy sets at XLR, SOUP and the Deaf Institute, and this release captures that raw, off-centre energy. The title track is dark, swung and unpredictable full of chopped percussion and heavy low-end pressure.

On remix duties is UrMUMSBSMT, the Burnley producer whose recent releases on ec2a, Profound Sound and BlueDollarBillz have earned support from big names in the UKG scene. Taking his spin on the title track into a 90s inspired, sub heavy, stripped-back roller.

DJ Ethanol makes his debut on QRUK with Test Press EP, a heavyweight, release that fuses elements of UKG, Breaks and Electro through a transatlantic lens. Originally from the underground scenes of North Carolina, and now based in Edinburgh, DJ Ethanol brings a rugged, textural sound shaped by free parties. The title track is a driving cut that layers industrial percussion, acid stabs and fractured vocal chops into something raw and unpredictable.

On remix duties is UK veteran UMT, whose decades-deep history in Garage and Breakbeat culture informs a stripped-back, sub-loaded take on the original. With recent support from the likes of DJ EZ, Quest and J:Kenzo, his remix lands somewhere between 2-step swing and minimal pressure, tailored for low-ceiling D-floors.

James Young steps up for his first release on QRUK with the Nagasaki EP, a dark and driving UKG cut that leans into the moodier edges of Garage and Speedy G. The North Wales-based producer has already made waves with House releases on labels like Smashin Trax and Pogo House, but this new EP sees him pushing into heavier, more dancefloor-focused territory. Nagasaki is packed with chopped-up drums, eerie textures and a tough low-end that hits hard.

On remix duties is Kabo Cana, returning to the label after making a big impression with his debut I DON'T UNDERSTAND. His take on Nagasaki flips the original into a more club-ready, 90s inspired roller full of sub pressure and tight percussion. It's another strong showing from the Manchester-based producer who's quickly becoming an exciting name in the new wave of UKG.

Stepco makes his QRUK debut with Check The Wrist, a tough Electro club tool that brings a darker, more minimal flavour to the label. Known for his roots in the South Wales House and Techno scene, the Swansea-based producer has turned heads with two large and in charge releases on Get Physical. This latest cut sees him lean into the more dark UK sound, keeping things stripped and rolling with crisp drums and chopped up vocals.

On remix duties is the QRUK regular Kabo Cana, who flips the title track into a faster club-ready stepper. It's a big follow-up to his standout QRUK debut I DONT UNDERSTAND, and comes ahead of another remix from him on the Nagasaki EP with James Young.

The Feel It EP marks the debut of both Whitehill and DS94 on QRUK, bringing together two fresh takes on the same idea. Whitehill's Feel It is a funky Electro track built around deep repeating rhythms and a nostalgic 80s style vocoder. All the while delivering a futuristic EP with nothing but flava and NRG. Easily paired with Whitehill's On The Beat, to form two of our favourite cuts from this years schedule.

Over to DS94 who flips the title track into a much harder Phonk/Techno style, taking the electro foundations of the original and pushing them into darker territory. Heavy kicks, gritty percussion and distorted textures run against the off beat bassline to create a really raw version. Together, the two tracks form a bold introduction for both artists on QRUK, fusing Electro and Techno with a rave ready edge.

What Is The World is the brand new EP from Tommy Sunsets and next to his big two originals is a PsyTrain remix from Cotton Socks.

Opener What Is The World is built on heavy drums and has a rasping bassline that really brings the energy. The mood is dark and mysterious which keeps you locked throughout.

Extraction is a scintillating tune with bright synths lighting up the grooves above the drums. They drive home in sleek futurist fashion and vocals add to the hypnosis.

Last of all, What Is The World (Cotton Socks PsyTrain Mix) is a more twisted version with techno pulses and cosmic synths bringing brightness up top.
