Lyrics:
As I walked down the path,
To our yearly place,
The barriers beeping,
An impromptu race.

My eyes all glassy,
As I trailed behind,
The three of you walking,
My mind tragically unwinds.

The soaring words,
That leapt through the air,
Through the stagnant breeze,
I imagined was there.

Lagging away,
I created a space,
Where no one would cross,
Delicate like lace.

But the water rushed,
As the waves awoke,
You all looked back,
And the rails suddenly spoke.

Hopping through the doors,
All three arms reach out,
As I left our space,
Ignored the engine’s shout.

A sign of no tomorrows,
A silence through the crowd,
It’s time for goodbyes,
But the words would not come out.

Then darkness was forced,
Lids shut with nails,
With unknown futures,
And unlimited fails.

The warm wind brushes,
My fringe came to life,
As my vision came back,
My fears began to die.

“Let’s take the next one together.”
All three in front of me,
As I turned to the timer,
Smiling so desperately.

I am not a musician, nor a singer. I am merely a poet, who might just feel that some of her poems need to be sung to get the message out there.
