After the success of our first various artists release, ‘The Voice of EKOU’, we’d like to present to you our next installment, ‘The Full Spectrum’. This project started as an idea to create a platform for up and coming producers, however over the previous months has developed into something that has allowed us to include both newcomers and established artists alike. 
	
In the 2 and a half years since our first release, we’ve been on a constant journey through sound, and have been a platform for a variety of artists, all of whom produce a variety of styles under the drum & bass umbrella. With ‘The Full Spectrum’, we hope to showcase our journey for you, our audience; some of you have been with us from the beginning, others are new to the label - either way we hope you know what to expect!

This is our representation of the full spectrum of drum & bass, and what the genre means to us. We hope you enjoy listening to this massive VA just as much as we did putting it together. 

‘The Full Spectrum’ has 22 tracks, split over 2 parts, and features both newcomers and seasoned artists alike. Part 1 drops exclusively on February 4th via Bandcamp and Beatport, followed two weeks later by Part 2 on February 18th.

We proudly welcome Bene to the Drum Army family. The seventeen-year-old Swiss talent worked on his craft in silence for some years and now we have the honor to present you his first release ever, the "Articulate - EP".
Being influenced by the music of labels like Flexout, Overview and Critical the young producer developed his own unique blend of minimal and techy sounds.
Every tune is a standalone weapon that will for sure bring fire to every dancefloor and yet they come together perfectly creating what is now the "Articulate -EP".
We can‘t wait to see what the future holds for the uprising talent called Bene.

Almost exactly a year ago we presented you the first edition of a compilation that should unite almost every Drum and Bass subgenre on one sampler. The integrative idea is so appealing that we now follow up with volume 2 and want to present a selection of tracks with different styles again. The protagonists represented here also result in a colorful potpourri of national, transregional and international artists, some of whom have already made a name for themselves on other labels in the meantime. And so we are pleased that some of the producers are represented twice here, such as Scurrow, who provides the framework for the release with his two very different works. His remix for Bassface Sascha’s “Inside The Rabbit Hole (feat. Trinity)” sets the pyramid on fire right at the start of the compilation. Escape impossible! “There Is No Wifi In The Jungle” marks the end: a breaky jungle slammer for heads that want it percussive and can stand a lot of bass as well. In between, of course, there are also techy tracks, e.g. by Clusta, who can add a VIP crown to his mighty “Cave Of Evil”. With Gisix we have a true debutant who sets a real exclamation mark with his expansive “Poppy” including sawtooth synth! Another slammer comes from new signing Kontrakt from Finland. “Network” is a hectic number, metaphorically speaking somewhere between tangled cables and stressed office colleagues. Low Performance also made his debut for us and is here with the grinding “Call Of Cthulhu” that would make every tunnel drill green with envy. The deeper pieces come once again from the favorite Italian Petarda, with Elektronik VIP soaring up to an uplifting sound aesthetic and Petarda actually only initiates us into one of his another dark sound secrets with “Nostalgy”. So here we have it, the final release from us at Yamatai Records for 2022, and what a year it has been!

After almost a year of planning, with countless hours of scouting fresh talent to represent Yamatai, back and forth with art designers to get the right design and multiple final track touch-ups we can finally introduce the 20 track monster the 'Genesis VA'.

This VA includes lots of amazing upcoming talent in the Drum & Bass scene all of who have their own unique sound and style. Featuring artists who have released on Delta 9, Engage Audio, Program, Forbidden Frequencies, 4 Corners, Sinful Maze and Incurzion Audio we have a very very talented bunch of artists on this VA.

To make the thank you even better for the support this year the 'Genesis' VA is a free download with two release dates, starting on December the 16th and then the final release on January 6th.

I would personally like to thank all the artists involved in this huge project and for being so cooperative, also a shout out to Trigo Designs for whipping up such a beautiful album cover but also a massive thank you to R3IDY [R3 Masters] for being patient, and getting these tracks sounding incredible.

I am super excited to finally share this project with you, and I can't wait to see what you think :)

"The follow up to 'Skadi' by Austria's Sub on Subtle Audio:

The next Subtle Audio 12", from Austria's Sub which follows on from his previous Release on the Label, 'Skadi'. Two D&B Cuts and a Downtempo Piece will feature on the Vinyl and they're extremely good indeed.

'Tensions' is a beautifully delicate piece of D&B. Sharp snares, hi-hats and drifting atmospheres are underpinned by sub-zero bass sound. Suddenly the beats thicken and become twisted and glitchy. It’s almost as if the frozen lake you were standing on is beginning to crack and give way...

'Halleluja' is on the half-speed tip and probably will not even sound like D&B to most. Choir voices are interrupted by a stepping beat and shuddering, dirty bassline, offset by a world of icey atmospherics, echoes and feedback. This is truly from another planet.

'Hydra' is something a little different for Subtle Audio clocking in at 120bpm but certainly doesn't sound like house or techno! It's a nicely mellow track with a lurching, jerky beat which is filtered and reversed but always rhythmical. Dark Rhodes keys and then a bright piano line ensure a nice variance of mood in this beautifully balanced piece."

Quadrant used to have a very outdated bio, so he wrote this one. Since the last update, this Seattle native has risen to the top of the stateside DnB scene, alongside his partner (in production, DJing, and life), Iris. Together they have toured (some parts of) the world, released tens of mixes, completed a debut LP with their good friend Kid Hops entitled “206”, and released EPs and collabs with some of their favorite people in the entire world (names your friends have probably heard of, like Klute, Total Science, DLR, Ulterior Motive, and Ant TC1). If your friends still aren’t convinced, make sure to mention their signature blend of deep but techy rolling vibes– only the good stuff, the stuff that makes you remember how good Drum and Bass can be. If that doesn’t work, tell them that 2008 will be Quadrant’s best year yet.
