GOOD INTENT, the alluring 3rd single from KIMBRA’S highly anticipated debut album VOWS, will be available on iTunes from Monday 15 August.  

The album VOWS will be released on Friday 2 September.  

Having signed with Warner Music Worldwide in Los Angeles earlier this year, KIMBRA’S debut record has been three and-a-half years in the making. It charts not only her growth and development musically over this time, but personally as well. KIMBRA co-produced VOWS alongside the refined skills of François Tétaz (Bertie Blackman, Gotye) and Australian Urban export M-Phazes (Amerie, Pharoahe Monch) . She also contributed her vocal talents to Miami Horror’s ‘ I look to you ‘ and a duet with Gotye’s on his current number 1 single ‘Somebody I used to Know’. 

KIMBRA is already proving herself as a songwriter and music stylist beyond her years. Settle Down, the first single lifted from VOWS, won first place in the Pop/Top 40 category at the The International Songwriting Competition (ISC), the world's preeminent global songwriting event.  Most recently KIMBRA was also awarded the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Award for her 2nd single Cameo Lover.  

On Good Intent, KIMBRA explores both sides of a broken vow and the destruction it causes. An intense theme playfully delivered in teasing lines punctuated by drunk horns, “I know you didn’t mean it boy/you meant so well/but the pennies are cascading ‘round your wishing well.” Framed by jazz bass, the nimble shuffle of drums and a bluesy guitar solo, the effect is like waking up in a foggy speakeasy after a jagged night out to find the heart on your sleeve missing. The cinematic film clip, playing out a film noir escapade of moral intentions and immoral actions, is set to plunge fans deeper into the eclectic world of KIMBRA.

To support the single and album releases, KIMBRA is touring nationally with tickets on sale now.   Demand to see KIMBRA’S critically acclaimed live performance is so strong, her Sydney show has recently moved to a venue double the size.

Quango began as an ambassador for a new wave of mid-late 90’s chilled-out electronica emerging around the world in a variety of flavors. Founded by Los Angeles-based radio and club DJ, Bruno Guez, Quango was developed over its first decade as an imprint of Chris Blackwell’s Island Records and Palm Pictures. In it’s seminal first three years, Guez and his creative partner, Jason Bentley, two DJs with a passion for sharing dance music, closely curated the Quango aesthetic, and are credited with releasing nearly thirty taste-making albums widely acknowledged by the music community to be well ahead of their time. They featured artists like Bomb the Bass, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Talvin Singh, Tricky and Sneaker Pimps. Quango’s audience quickly grew from a collective of devoted party-goers to a niche community of in-the-know, cosmopolitan city dwellers. Quango has made a significant impact on LA cultural history, as well as on the burgeoning electronic music scene.

Quango's first release under the Palm Pictures umbrella was the seminal Zero 7 album, Simple Things. By 2001, Quango’s focus shifted from dance-centric tunes to a new, artist driven sound and became less present in the club scene while setting the tone in hip bars, restaurants, hotels and lifestyle retail chains. 

The twenty years since Quango’s formation have witnessed dramatic changes in the way that music is experienced, marketed and distributed. Despite the changing business models, Quango’s core vision has remained faithful to its ongoing quest for the freshest music from around the globe. More than just a trendsetting label focused on bringing global grooves to a North American audience, Quango emerged as a leader in music licensing, digital technology and the burgeoning field of lifestyle branding. 
    
The most recent phase in the label’s cycle showed an explosion in the film, advertising and TV placement world.
