In our 56th episode we present to you a 2+ hour techno trip with our guest Chris Stanford. Based in London, Britain Chris has been busy at his residency with Jaded at Corsica Studios, also producing and releasing on labels like EarToGround & LDNwht which he co-manages with Gareth Wild & Dax J. He also started another label this called Quant which is already featuring music from Hector Oaks, Urbano, Mutecell, Nikola Gala and next up it's The Plant Worker

For this episode we will give you a two hour set with addictive techno grooves, so there's nothing else to do but to enjoy.

One of Fanon Flowers best works finally reissued on Mojuba sub label a.r.t.less! As a very eloquent discogs user once said: “Absolutely essential hard, minimal, detroit-style techno. One of the finest examples of the mid-late 90's minimal sound. Aggressive, spare, funky...much like Robert Hood's seminal masterpiece, Minimal Nation LP. Unlike much of the mindless, meathead bangers of hard techno, this single is tastefully understated. Taking cues from early g-man (and perhaps less directly from Basic Channel) this record doesn't oversaturate with a barrage of hard beats...it holds back and leaves the listener hypnotized and wanting more. This is hard techno that works. It jacks; it throbs; it fills the dance floor. It's smarter than the rest, and it isn't afraid to show its detroit roots. It's everything that the idiom of hard techno should be and rarely was able to achieve. This record is the undelivered promise of the hard, detroit sound and one of the best examples of the Robert Hood/Jeff Mills legacy.“ There's nothing more to add ;)

The new instalment on Indigo æra features three originals by Indigo's founders Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff. Since the label's start they have been on a mission for soul containing techno. This release, a little bit more tough styled compared to their previous releases, still perfectly maintains the detroit-esque melodic elements. Cosmic Language EP is about the visualization of soundwaves into geometric forms....

Opener 'Ante 303' is a loose limbed bit of techno with straight kicks, spacious percussion and an always essential baseline that sprays about freely. Heady but physical, it’s a seductively supple bit of techno. 'Trica' has more classically driven chords and has real sense of crescendo buried in the bass. Last but not least, 'Stellar Cult' makes effective use of the 909 toms, with alien and sci fi sonic details evolving into a space journey with an soulfull ending of strings and stars.

Londoner Chris Stanford, a well respected DJ first and foremost, with over a decade of experience in the clubs. 
In recent years most of which has been with his residency Jaded held at Corsica Studios every Sunday, where he has proven his capability to play for hours and with his consistency to perform each time with a unique, forward thinking set. 
He carries reputation for never the same set twice, is a strong supporter of new music and couldn't be further away from the relentless anthem bashers. 
He has always believed in underground music and his belief is that techno should push forward, not become a hit parade. 
His art has seen him travel for gigs in places like Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Mannheim, Ibiza, Malta. 
As well as Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol and other UK cities.

Sounds From NoWhere Podcast #033 - Chris Stanford

This is not Rraph's first appearance on Quant, he featured with two tracks on the 10 Compilation two years ago. This EP is straight outta Poland as he is joined by fellow countryman Michal Jablonski on the remix.

This EP gives us two tracks to rumble the room from Rraph. The title track has hi-energy distorted feedback in patterns that erupt throughout, with lead synth chord sequence that escalates into a solo with acidic finale before sliding back into the drive.

Sarcogyps is remixed by his homie Michal, making it step some, standard Jablonski style. This takes his rudeness to whole new deep level, midway the evil d&b like moody drawn out stabs cut through the distortion.

Taxus the hypnotic weapon to colossal damage is relentless hearts a tool that will conjure up the intensity if ever it was lacking. Repetitive prodding only to pause for a short drone attack twice off the back of a filtered down kick, the second time comes in an alarming nature.
