As a sign of solidarity, and an attempt to bring a shimmer of light into the current dark times, Monument has gathered a selection of tracks for a VA compilation. All profits from the release will go to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s fundraising campaign for the people of Ukraine, who need help now.

The diverse musical contributions were created by artists in over ten different countries - spanning from Scotland to Georgia, and Finland to Spain - reflecting the uniting power music can have beyond borders. The release’s sound palette ranges from introspective ambient pieces to dark and broken beats as well as more hopeful timbres.

Guiseppe Tillieci, Gianluca Meloni and Iacopo Sposaro from Enisslab studio have been so generous to offer the mastering for all the tracks. We wish to deeply thank both them and each of the contributing artists for lending their creative energy to this collaborative gesture for peace.

Giacomo Raisi mostly known as Jack's trip is a DJ, music producer and audio engineer based in Berlin.

The foundation of Jack's music lies in dense textures, intriguing grooves, and field recordings. His characteristic blend of creative distortion and glitchy organic sound design offers unexpected moments in every track. Experimentation plays a crucial role in his work, as he seamlessly combines various elements, genres, and concepts.

Giacomo embarked on his journey in electronic music production at a young age and quickly delved into the world of DJing. Throughout his career, he has explored a multitude of genres, with a particular focus on the dance floor. Growing up in an environment rich in diverse art and cultures, his dual Italian and Peruvian nationality further contributed to his artistic development.

Having lived in different countries and travelled extensively, Giacomo's mind has been opened to artistic experimentation, allowing him to explore various concepts and methods to establish his own identity and sound as a DJ, producer, and sound designer. His artistic influences stem from genres such as Psychedelic and Progressive rock, Techno, Experimental, and Cinematic music.

Next up we're very excited to have a mix from Berlin head, Stefan Goldmann.

Stefan has been a mainstay of the scene for quite some years working on an array of projects and releasing on many labels. 
Stefan has his own label, Macro, that he set up in 2007 with Finn Johannsen. However, prior to the birth of Macro, Stefan had released on many other labels such as Perlon, Cocoon and Innervisions. 

A rather special relationship has developed between Stefan and Berlin’s Berghain club since his debut at Panorama Bar in 2006. He conceived the Elektroakustischer Salon nights, opening up the club to experimental formats, and he is also the co-author of the club’s book, “Berghain 10“.

Stefan also writes a bi-monthly column for the club’s programme flyer full of interesting content, be sure to check it out.

The next move from Artefakt (@artefakt-official) and Delsin is a selection of their label back catalog remixed by four producers that can’t do no wrong in modern techno days. The artists they chose are all debutants on the label where it feels like a perfect fit. It resulted in a collection of involving drum grooves, hypnotic loops, smoky dub techno and cinematic ambient.

Forest Drive West (@forest-drive-west) is up first, coming off the back of a fantastic album on Livity Sound that showcased his hi fidelity take on bass, jungle and techno. Here he flips 'The Fifth Planet' into eight broody minutes of involving drum programming and groaning synth drones. A subtly uplifting tune thanks to the gorgeous pads in the background, but real bass heavy system music when it comes to the dance floors. Swedish producer Evigt Mörker (@evigtmorker) turns 'The Fifth Planet' into an utterly hypnotic, rolling, lumpy kick drum workout that pulls you into a state of techno meditation. 

Paris deep techno stars Polar Inertia (@polarinertia) then remix 'Tapeloop' into a cavernous world of smoky dub techno. The vast emptiness sucks you in and the deft sound designs make for atmospheric, cinematic additions to this mental trip. Closing is Spazio Disponibile artist Valentino Mora (@valentinomora), whose slowly unfolding odyssey is built on gentle hand drums and spooky pads and take you deep into some oceanic abyss.

Artefakt - Remixed (DSR-C14)

Quantec alias Sven Schienhammer grew up in the '80s. Producing and remixing electronic music since 1995 first using hardware tools such as Rolands MC 505 and a 303 with some efx tools.

Now the studio is hardware and software in symbiosis. Using some oldschool synths from the 70's & 80's for the love of the lo-fi feeling of those machines! The sounds are digitized thoughts and emotions.

Personal favourite styles in music include detroit and dubby electronics, deep house, dub, roots reggae, drones, ambient and some experimental stuff. He also releases music as Monoaxial and Sven Schienhammer.
