The main force behind OOFT Music is Ali Herron. Originally cutting his production chops with tracky edits and some early OOFT! remixes alongside The Revenge, Ali has been steadily building up his own studio over the last 5 years, putting out a series of deep, pitched- down house tracks on labels such as Instruments of Rapture, PPF, Delusions of Grandeur, Rememory and Wolf Music.

DJ-wise he has played in most of the clubs that matter in Scotland, including The Sub Club, The Arches, Glasgow School of Art, Stereo, Snafu, and The Reading Rooms amongst many others. Recent European trips have seen him take his sound across Germany, Poland, Finland, France and Spain.

Originally running the L.E.S.S. Productions imprint alongside The Revenge and DJ 2Three, Ali’s main creative outlet is currently his own Foto Recordings label which also showcases material from colleagues such as Andy Ash, Deep Space Orchestra and Craig Bratley.

here's my 2nd remix for the album "The Havana Remixes" by Bahama Soul Club. Out May 12th vinyl, CD and digital files.

"Hot on the heels of their critically praised album "Havana '58" and with fans worldwide clamoring for more, The Bahama Soul Club has now called upon a brilliant range of producers, DJs and artists to put their own personal spin on Bahama's latest release. Sifting through the album's finest moments they worked their magic on selected tracks and rebooted them into pure rhythmic bliss: "The Havana Remixes" is a bright collection of Latin, House, Jazz, Funk, Soul & Disco with a thoroughly modern take on Dancefloor Jazz.

Opener "Muévelo Papi" is a stirring 60s Boogaloo-hip-twist by the mighty Club Des Belugas, while Geordie mate Smoove from Newcastle turns “No Words” into a fusion of Jazz-house and Breakbeat. Opolopo pulls "Dizzy's Bounce" deeeep into jazzy House while Maestro&Vezzola and Chinchin's Zouzoulectric vs. Gardener Of Delight both having a diverse view on "Tropicana Flight", giving it a Disco-Latin-House-Funk treatment.
Suonho from Italy jams a more modern Soul-Disco-Funk on "No Words" and amps up the funk quotient on "Muévelo Papi" with a touch of Jazz and a Latin Twist. Rounding off the release is an unexpected Nu-skool Brazilika-brukbeat from Positive Flow aka Jesse Reuben Wilson on "Elegguà" and some solid Latin funky breaks from Jack&Jointz on the rolling "Rumba Fugaz".

All remixes are mastered by The Uncle and very special radio-edits were made exclusively for the beautiful 180g vinyl. Containing nine tracks, this 12" looks like a neat introduction for newcomers and a nice round up for long-term Bahama Soul Club admirers. The full extended versions of all remixes will be released on CD and Digital formats."

Ever since newcomers T.U.R.F. from the Netherlands started making music, they were always heavily influenced by disco music. At first indirectly through the early French/Disco House scene, but soon they found themselves digging in the original disco crates too, with artists like MFSB, Chic, Shalamar, O'Jays and many more amazing artists that still sound fresh to this date. They both are still drawn to the incredible arrangements, groovy rhythms and most of all the positive vibe that is at the core of every disco record.

With their 'Reggie Fox' EP, T.U.R.F. tried to take out all of the elements they love most from disco and give their own touch. Both turned out to be two pumping bass driven adventures, that essentially carry out the same message as the disco music they love: "just dance and have a good time".

T.U.R.F. is the musical project of Lorenzo and Tom. 
They first met at a rave in 2003, where they found out they not only shared the same taste in music but that they were also actively producing music themselves. However, in the years to follow a potential collaboration didn’t even cross their minds. Tom began to focus more on playing live instruments, whereas Lorenzo dove into the depths of electronic music and released groovy techno tunes with his solo project Kurizu.

In 2017 they finally decided to join forces to start a new project: T.U.R.F. – a moniker under which they express their longtime love of house music. Their first studio sessions led to a jazzy and soulful debut record on Apparel Music. Soon after they signed a record contract at the Berlin-based Exploited Records, where they gained heavy support on their sophomore EP Black Jukebox 22 and their latest solo outing 'Bring Me Down'.

As DJs, the pair throws down a wide variety of dance music from the archive they built digging for more than fifteen years, with soulful, swinging grooves as the main thread that glues their dynamic sets together.
