In ancient times, when dragons still soared above the clouds and spirits roamed the earth in human form, there lived a young warrior named Liang , the son of a humble peasant. He was brave and kind-hearted, trained by old masters of martial arts in a mountain monastery. One day, returning from a mission, he became lost in an ancient forest where trees whispered to each other and shadows moved on their own.

Amidst a snowstorm, Liang heard a faint cry. In a drift, nearly frozen, lay a small fox cub with fiery red fur and nine tails — a rare creature, a harbinger of fate. Liang took off his cloak, pressed the little one to his chest, and warmed it with his breath. He didn’t know that he was saving a Huli Jing — a fox demoness — whose soul was still innocent as a spring blossom...
