A throwback to classic 80s techno and house vibes, 500 represents several months of experimenting with old school techno!

I came up with the idea after taking a tour of Submerge this past year. Got to around to all the old spots and everything, and got to meet some awesome people from all over the world. Got me hooked on Model 500 and UR and all the like.

Some more vibes from the TD-3/RD-8 pairing. It's soooo good!

Same set up as before, TD-8 on drums through BOSS RX-100 reverb (except for kick), then TD-3 through Electra EP-100 BBD.

Alright, just something dumb and easy for testing out the Solina SE-IV. What a cool string synth, this thing sounds amazing! Though it weighs an absolute ton holy moly.

Drums are RD-8 through a BOSS RX-100 spring verb, bass is TD-3 through BOSS RCL-10 comp/limiter and Eletra EP-100 BBD, and finally strings are Solina through T-Rex Replicator. Recorded on my Tascam 246!

Eminent Namespace

Here's a sorta smooth track I made to test out the recently fixed up Tascam 238 rackmount 8-track cassette tape recorder! As you can tell, all 8 channels actually work and playback nicely, and no staticy clicks and pops. Now to fix the otari...

Anyways, this is pretty basic. The QX1 sequences everything but drums, and operates in 5/4 time. The RD-8 sends clock and transport to the QX1, and then I play with mutes and un-mutes and parameters till the dogs come home. I do really like making a longish loop on the QX1 and syncing that to a more traditionally timed/phrased drum loop. Great potential there.
