Some kinda bluesy stuff, rainy and moody. It was all just improv and features my still broken wurlitzer. Amp's shot on it, high end gets completely saturated out and it often starts breaking up. Managed to get 6 minutes without issue somehow lol.

Apartment 305

Wanted to do a drone-ier track for the spook season, so I got the ms-20 stood on its side and played around with the monologue. MS-20 is fed into itself via the ESP, which gives you some crunchy distortion. Monologue is fed through two channels of dbx compression, set to really blast the signal. Then some delay and reverb to top it all off.

This one was fully unsequenced.

Took my broken pocket tape recorder outside the other day and just set it down on a barrel to record sounds coming from the street. So I sent that through some pedals, and sent my monologue through even more pedals to make a neat little ambient track.

Got my stuff hooked up, and was gonna use the tr707 I had gotten recently but had a few issues with disabling omni mode so I just used the TR-8.

I was messing around with the deepmind, monologue and sp404 to make some lofi beats on the tape machine.

Keystep controls deepmind12 and clocks the sp404. Monologue is played by hand. 404 does beats, deepmind does arps and chords and stuff. Monologue on bass.

Recorded to tascam 424 at half speed.

Wanted to test some really crunchy delays, so I made something that's like borderline unlistenable. Woo!

I wanted to do some sampling for basically the first time aside from just loading up a bunch of drum samples. So I grabbed a tune from those old kmart tapes and just messed around a bit with it. Not too bad!

Here's a sorta smooth track I made to test out the recently fixed up Tascam 238 rackmount 8-track cassette tape recorder! As you can tell, all 8 channels actually work and playback nicely, and no staticy clicks and pops. Now to fix the otari...

Anyways, this is pretty basic. The QX1 sequences everything but drums, and operates in 5/4 time. The RD-8 sends clock and transport to the QX1, and then I play with mutes and un-mutes and parameters till the dogs come home. I do really like making a longish loop on the QX1 and syncing that to a more traditionally timed/phrased drum loop. Great potential there.

hey everyone! This is a really big track just mechanically speaking, it's 22 tracks of recording from the Mackie console directly into REAPER, as well as featuring the MV-8000 for sequencing duties on 14 synths!!!

So, basically this is a whole boatload of synths in this thing. I'm working on a video for this right now, and I'm thinking I'll do some text overlays so you know what's playing each part at each point. Should come in handy.

But basically, RD-8 on 808 sounds, MS-101 on bass, and then literally every other synth I've got hooked up ran through effects doing leads, pads, weird sounds, just little 30 second snippets. I just kept adding shit to tracks and seeing what stuck as I made it from like an 8 bar loop into a 4 minute song or so.
