Wanted to test out my DigDugDIY Purple Rain compressor, so I ran the Roland TR-8 through it into my old Radio Shack MX1000 line mixer. Kawai K1m handles other synth sounds, sequenced by the Squarp Pyramid. That also goes into the MX1000.

Then that all goes out to the Behringer Model D for filtering, and then that goes into the Alesis Wedge for splitting the signal into stereo. Recorded to tape on my Tascam 424 mk1.

Alright, here's some actually good house. That last one is kinda piss poor, so have some beefier kicks and snares courtesy of the Tama Techstar TS-306
! Rest of perx is RX5, bass is neutron and chords are model D just like the last. Model D through Ibanez DM-1000 digital delay. Neato!

Heyyyy, it finally came in! Say hello to the MXR 185 drum computer, a fantastic little drum machine from the early 80s with an 8-bit punch. It's got a performance mixer, it's got live global drum tuning, it DOESN'T have MIDI, wowowow!

Anyways, I've got it spitting clicks out to the modular where the pulses get signal boosted to trigger manther's sequencer clock and also microfreak's sequencer clock as well. That seemed remarkably stable and kept everything nice and tight.

Obviously, manther is on bass and goes through the Tascam GS-30 guitar cab sim. Then the microfreak goes through the Dreadbox Hypnosis after the eurorack (with some more delay from the Blue Lantern stereo delay). Overall, not my most complicated track but probably one of the most fun I've had in a while. That dedicated performance mixer is just amazing, it's really making me miss my TR-707 that I never got a chance to send out for repairs before the quarantine hit. Ah well, soon I'll have the two of them playing off each other for an infinite well of sounds from house to techno to synthwave. Great!
