In Hour 2, to coincide with Luke Vibert playing at the last I love Acid and 20 years of releasing music, we feature a retrospective mix done by Lexis from the excellent Music is my Santuary. In his own words;
"Doing a tribute mix to Luke Vibert and his multiple production pseudonyms is not a challenge I took lightly. His versatility is what drew me into electronic music in my youth and he has in my opinion one the most diverse bodies of work in recent electronic music history, through Moody Abstract Hip-Hop, Acid House, Disco, Drum & Bass and House. I wanted to do this mix because a lot of people might know Luke Vibert from one of his multiple personas without connecting the dots with the other projects. Big respect to Luke Vibert and all his split personalities."

Re-arranging the chord progression and chopping up parts of the stems before adding some techno style hat sequences and dubbing it all out in real time. The Christchurch based producer has gone from strength to strength, his unique take on dubstep has had him labelled as one of the rising stars in the genre. Akcept continues to defy genre boundaries and push his sound, drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical influences such as,  Hip-Hop, African rhythms and deep dub styles. After a string of releases at 140 bpm on some of the world’s leading dubstep labels (Amar, Artikal, Moonshine Recordings, Sentry), Akcept pushes the boundaries further still with two hypnotic rollers demonstrating his love for minimal dub techno and ambient styles. 

A sort after dub, ‘Teachings’ is now getting the full heavyweight 12" treatment. A mesmerising dub odyssey with distant stabs create an emotive atmosphere as His signature heavy bass notes roll in followed by a 'steppas like' riddim to lock you in the groove. Subtle dubbing, dynamic use of space, and the introduction of an alternate skank will have you in deep meditation before the drums come back in with more energy and an astute bass line.

On the flip ‘Going Around In Circles’. A thumping kick drum and groovy baseline accompanied by a classic 4/4 beat and a poignant vocal sample, blur the lines between house, techno and dub music.

Wesley Barbosa, nome por trás do projeto Parallel, é músico (estudou desde os 8 anos de idade) e apreciador de vários gêneros musicais. Desde 2014 na cena, seus sets atravessam os estilos, do comercial ao pouco conhecido, do house aos híbridos e experimentais, tendo como proposta a quebra de conceitos e união dos estilos. Sempre buscando novas influências, tem raízes fortes no trap e no dubstep, adicionando pitadas de outras vertentes não rotuladas, porém sempre buscando as baixas frequências. Hoje trabalha, como vertentes principais em suas seleções, com o bass house limpo e grooveado e o hybrid trap agressivo e acelerado. Fora da discotecagem, já fez trabalhos de curadoria musical e em 2017 passou a ser redator em um site especializado em música eletrônica grave. Seus sets já passaram por casas como Espaço Elevate, Mono Club, Trackers e Club 33.

His sets walk through the styles, from commercial to barely known, from Pop EDM to hybrid and experimental, with the purpose of breaking concepts and joining music styles together. In an unstoppable search for new influences, he has deep roots in trap and dubstep, adding a little bit of future beats, footwork and other unlabeled styles, but always looking forward for the low frequences.
