"Kill a week in the middle of summer" is the name of that wonderful gathering of 50-60 friends in one of the most beautiful places in the world - Zubarikha. I am happy every year to be there, hugging each of you, talking with each of you for hours, drinking with each of you and playing for each of you! I love our huge campaign, I mentally talk to each of you, among you there is not a single person whom I would not be glad to see and who would not be interesting to me! I recorded this mix in Zuba for you. It's always the best time!

He has been around for years and over the course of his career has released on some of the top labels in the genre; kosa, Shango, Lump, Sonido Tropico, Cosmic Awakenings, Random Collective and the list goes on...

Today our special guest is Greg aka Pale Penguin, label owner of Shango Records and producer as Kellie Sakkaku. He came up with a beautiful mixtape to share his work with us. He lives in Thessaloniki, Greece, and have been DJing for 35 years now, and been producing for 17 years now. A true genre nomad with no boundaries with many tentacles of perception running in different aspects of music. Always traveling physically and metaphorically he arrives today with us with his musical journey, and a good glass of wine.
In his words: "The major inspiration for the set was a small trip that i've done to the northwest Greek mountains at the end of 2022. The landscapes and the nature was amazing and inspired me to do the mix"

Seasidetrip 74 - northern lights at fjordfest - Lotte Ahoi

Es ist ja nun auch kein Geheimnis mehr, das Käpt’n https://soundcloud.com/rolandson aus dem Norden kommt und eine Vorliebe für Skandinavien hat. Bei all seinen Reisen geht es um Musik und den Einklang mit sich selbst und der Natur, da bieten die skandinavischen Ur-/ Töne und Naturphänomene genügend Inspiration. Eines dieser Phänomene ist das Polarlicht, auch Nordlicht genannt, welches uns immer wieder wundervolle Lichtspiele an den nächtlichen Himmel zaubert. 

Das eine Nordlicht flimmert am Himmel, andere Nordlichter wiederum reisen durch das Universum, um selbiges mit ihrer Musik zu bereichern und die Lebewesen damit zu verzücken. Mal abgesehen von eurem Käpt'n gibt es da beispielsweise die https://soundcloud.com/lotte-ahoi (Urban Cosmonaut Radio), welche sich ein Herz fasste, ihren Heimathafen verließ und aktuell durch Südamerika streunert. 

In 2015 trafen wir uns das erste Mal heimLICH in einem Garten in Heidelberg und seitdem haben wir das ein oder andere Getränk geleert, zusammen das Kraut der Halblinge in Rauchkringel aufgehen lassen und gemeinsam zum Tanze aufgespielt. So unter anderem auch beim Fjord Fest - ein Open Air in den Weinbergen südlich der Republik und nah an der franz. Grenze. Dort kamen Freunde_Innen aus Norwegen, Schweden, Deutschland und Frankreich zusammen, verlebten 3 wundervolle Tage und sponnen so manches musikalisches Seemannsgarn. Aus eben diesem fjord'schen Seemannsgarn ist die heutige Folge ersonnen . . . und da euer Käpt'n vor 5 Tagen Geburtstag hatte und die Lotte Ahoi genau heute den Ihrigen feiert, da wünschten und dachten wir uns so: Wir schenken euch 1 Stunde und 28 Minuten Fjord Fest Musik. So erhebt eure Getränke, lacht, liebt, höret und tanzet und habt Spaß - skøl!

As David Bowie (may he have a great time in space with Major Tom) once sang »To sailing is dead, but the sailor has done it.« And indeed, it’s dangerous and sometimes it makes you feel that you are lonely, but the sailor has it done - all the time. 
your captain www.soundcloud.com/rolandson has no worries about it, that the most of us sailors think: that this is our destiny. And that it usually has to do with a feeling deep inside of us, the feeling of LOVE - to sail the 7 oceans, for the crew around you, to the old gods like Odin or Poseidon and also the love & the anticipation of the adventures that lie ahead and behind you. 

Nevertheless it’s also about a feeling called »in the depth of the solitude«. the solitude of the vastness of the ocean - the solitude in the bunk and something more. it’s hard to describe which feelings rushes through everyone, music is our choice to try to make them audible. and our newest crew member www.soundcloud.com/tari-q would do it like this: »the ocean is in my brain.
