“𝐎𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐤” is a collaborative effort of singers, dancers, instrumentalists, and artists all from different parts of the Philippines– 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃-𝟏𝟗 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐂𝐐.

This is a song describing the struggles of the Dumagat tribe in preserving nature and their homelands through efforts of exploitation and modernization, specifically the construction of mega dams in Sierra Madre. 

It was originally written by Father Oliver Castor, a Filipino priest who wanted to bring awareness to the plight of indigenous tribes in the Philippines. 

Recorded and shot by our artists individually in their different homes as we are quarantined. 

Even in the time of COVID, we artists are brought together as one.

This is the spirit of Quaranteatro– creating art to bring light even in the darkest of times.
