On this week’s Cadenza Music Source to Cycle session, we welcome a very familiar name from the house music fraternity. Pit Waldmann, AKA Gorge, has been a consistent and ever reliable provider of the beats for quite some time now. Producing music and DJing since the 1990’s

Alongside Nick Curly, Gorge set up the 8Bit Records label in in 2006 swiftly followed by his new imprint in 2014 with his old friend SKAI called Re: Fresh Your Mind.

A platform for the music of Gorge and Curly, the 8Bit label also released music from the likes of Johnny D, Peace Division, Oxia, Mendo, Santé, Sidney Charles and many more.

Gorge has also gone on to feature on labels such as Freerange, Plastic City and Objektivity. 

He also continues to DJ regularly, and has played many of the world's most esteemed night spots such as Cielo in New York, Space in Ibiza, DEdge and Warung.

I've had a string of very inspiring DJ sets over the last few weeks but I couldn't manage to record any of them unfortunately. Hence my idea of selecting a few current favorites and blend them as if I was playing in a club. It's impossible to translate the energy of a party into a DJ set recorded at home... but I think this mix comes pretty close!

Denis Horvat burst onto DJ Mag’s radar in 2015 with his ‘Cedevita’ EP, and we’ve been keen for him to take the helm of our Fresh Kicks mix ever since.

With his dynamic productions and complex sets of and deep and melodic techno, Horvat now regularly shares the bill with some of the world’s most revered selectors, including the likes of Âme, Dixon and Maceo Plex.

Having also seen release on labels including Exit Strategy, Connaisseur Recordings and Sum Over Histories, Horvat has since found a regular home on Alex Niggemann’s AEON Audio.

Speaking about his Fresh Kicks mix, Horvat told DJ Mag, “I’ve selected tracks that I play in almost every set at the moment. Some of those are unreleased gems from friends and others are artists that I’m really feeling right now.”

End Of Summer Mix 2018 (recorded live at Denon DJ Studio Berlin, Riverside Studios)

After two and a half decades of music production, Duncan Gray is primarily known as founder and owner of tici taci records - established in 2013 and now with a back catalogue of over 50 releases. In the '90s and '00s Duncan was involved with numerous labels and musical projects, working with a wide range of artists including Dylan Rhymes and Meat Katie. 

In 1997 he formed Sons of Slough with Ian Weatherall - The Sons were a formidable Live act bringing their blend of electro and techno to numerous dancefloors well before the age of "laptop Live" shows. With a residency at London's Turnmills, the Sons ended up releasing on a variety of labels including Skint, Electrix, and Whole9Yards.

His solo productions have been supported by such diverse DJs as James Lavelle, Andrew Weatherall, Nick Warren and even Boy George. Andrew Weatherall was instrumental in helping Duncan start tici taci, and Duncan has played the guitar on a bunch of Andrew's remixes over the years.

He's remixed AW as well as other notable names such as Red Snapper, Yothu Yindi, and Chicken Lips. He's DJ'd all over Europe, the US (including Burning Man way back in 2000), and even Australia. His first solo album (2017's "The Malcontent") showed off his diverse production chops and yielded a successful collaboration with Sarah Rebecca in the shape of "Erotica Nervosa".
