Then there's the vinyl-only QRN dub, a stripped-down-to-the-bone version using only my good old MPC 3000 and the 909. Which one do you prefer?

P&C Dirt Crew Recordings 2015

St. Petersburg resident Kito Jempere is back on Dirt Crew with his first full release after his debut album on “Fata Morgana” and a great EP on “Freerange” last year. Following his great contribution to our “Deep Love” series we now welcome him with these two unique tracks. Ranging from House to Disco and Jazz influences, Kito found his very own style and switches easily between them. Up tempo and energetic tracks with great melodies, driving bass lines and clever sample use.

To complete this fine package we asked one of our all time fave producers and almost neighbour of Kito, Roberto Rodriguez from Helsinki, He turned “Do You Know Me” into a deep and bass heavy beast, much more stripped than the original tune he managed to make a true dance floor Gem of a remix. The second Man on remix duty is our Boy Nachtbraker from Amsterdam, also a Dirt Crew fave and meanwhile a household name for great melodic house jams. He added a brilliant bass line and cut the original “A Thousand Times” up to turn it in a true Nachtbraker tune.

A very cosmopolitan affair this is and musically one great record we are very proud of to release!

Futureboogie roll into Spring with a heavyweight release from dastardly duo, Ron & Neil, AKA Ron Basejam, and Neil Diablo, who between them bring years of musical chops and (most importantly) ‘the funk ‘to the table, and don’t disappoint here.

In its Original Mix, ‘Pedre Son Éclat’ is a breezy yet sturdy slice of atmospheric synth dance, resplendent with swirling riffs and stammering bass.  A thunderous Roland CR-78 drum pattern keeps everything in check, and its sultry vocals flitter between spoken word and harmonious refrains, lacing the track with a superb ‘new wave’ feel. 

A remix comes courtesy of Man Power, the musical enigma that traded on his anonymity for a couple of years before coming clean as the English DJ/producer Geoff Kirkwood.  Having released on labels like Hivern, Throne Of Blood and Correspondant, Man Power takes ‘Pedre Son Éclat’ into even deeper territories, crafting a moody and spacious version that respectfully stays close to the original mix.

‘You Feel It’ ramps up the funk; the tribal rhythms, horn blasts and other micro samples keep the arrangement lively, all the while that bassline really gelling the track together.  

Rounding off the release is ‘Tears’; tension building strings and beats straight out of the school of Prelude/Salsoul lay the foundation for some grandiose analog arps, soulful vox and funky guitar licks, a super slick offering from the duo.

SB PREMIERE: M. Vaughan - When it All Happens... [Super Tuff]

The beginning of of this compilation makes David Labeij with a beautiful atmospheric deep house track, that also can describe a nighttime stroll through the world of the big city lights, and the ringing in of the afterhour in the club. Delicate surfaces, coupled with psychedelic sounds, that hang like water drops on the window pane on the track. But for us ones is never denied, the urge to move us to this track!

Track number 2 comes from our members Jayden San & Mathilda Leek. "The new german sound" many say. And yes, it's true. The two once again prove their unique harmony and bring us the title  "Irie". A Homarge to the freedom of life and thought. Clear Sounds, pefekt coordinated, invite us into this track, to feel free once again, to dream and dance out from your hearts.

Paxton Fettel, a boy, who says of himself, that he is not a typical house producer gives us Track Number 3 "Freedom Is". A beauty who looks his peers and makes us resonate with its lightness. Playful piano sounds amidst typical of those elements you could find in jazz as well as in hip hop. Freshens up with a perfect vocal work, Paxton shows us, that he is one of the greats and is difficult to categorize in the rest of the musicially world.

Last but not least our man Calvera. He enjoys this compilation with track number 4 "Love From Another Woman." The danish powermachine has struck again. Oldschool Sound as it's best. Calvera brings us again his unique style unerringly to this publication. Pumping beats in a perfect symbiosis with the sweet vocal and the soulful chords. Raw Sound & Groovy Feeling inclusive!
