PORTLAND - ICARUS

Quartz Lock Records returns for the summer time party season with a twisted two-track offering from Kid Vid3o. Kid Vid3o is the new guise of veteran psy-trance legend Shahar Fahima, showcasing his love for the shaded, late night tech-house business of the underground.  Both tracks on his latest EP beg to be played at an epic outdoor beach party, complete with bumping sound system and only the choicest of cuts – one track for the peak daytime set and the other crafted for small hours thrills. 

“Cyber Rider” is driving main room house as big as the summer solstice sun and is a gem of an A-side. Filtered and edited to give it a modern flavor there are also welcome touches of the old French Touch sound to give it just the slightest pinch of fond dance floor nostalgia. The bass line here, however, is all business and gives the track its nasty peak hour flavor.  One the back side, “Airbus” features a dark, nighttime groove with a driving bass line and superb melodies. The feeling here is soulful without sacrificing any of the festival sized aspects of this huge tune for an excellent high caliber big room track.
