Originally written and arranged for a men's suit fashion show where a woman's thoughts are heard (spoken words) by the audience, as male models in suits enter the show.

Teil 6 der Geschichte über den Absturz von Flug AB2-83 und dem einzigem Überlebenden entführt euch heute tiefer in die Geheimnisse der Insel. Das gefundene Tagebuch offenbart unserem unfreiwilligem Inselbewohner mysteriöse Vorgänge. Eine Melodie aus den Tiefen des Dschungels lässt ihn nicht mehr los. Sie ergreift Besitz von seinen Gedanken und existiert anscheinend schon seit langem. Unser Gastmusiker Flo  Mrzdk erfasst mit seinem Set das Gefühlschaos des Protagonisten, welche die Anmut der Klänge auslöst. Gerührt, verzückt... aufgewühlt, verwirrt...

 Die Vorgänge 

Hinter den Bäumen lauerte die Verlockung. Als ich über eine Lichtung ging, hörte ich sie singen. Zwischen den Blättern quollen die Töne hervor. Von den Ästen her musste es kommen. Ich rief, ich schrie, ich verlor meine Stimme. Ich wollte doch nur zurück zur Höhle. Der Abend war schon hier, die Dunkelheit stand bevor. Schnell würde die tropische Sonne den Tag hinter sich lassen. Ich musste zurück, der Anstieg war in der Dunkelheit eine tödliche Gefahr. Doch die Melodie zwang mich, ihr zu folgen. Die Melodie war so schön. Wieder schrie ich. Wer bist du, was willst du? Lass mich in Ruhe! Verschwinde, verschwinde doch einfach. Bitte, verschwinde. Die Dornen zerrissen mir wieder die Haut, die Angst trieb mir den Puls durch die Organe. Der Anmut des Klangs spülte Tränen in meine Augen. Ich weinte hemmungslos. Wo bist du, wo gehst du hin? Ich stand zwischen den Palmen, die Melodie verlor sich am Rande des Strandes. Die Sonne versank hinter dem Ozean. Über dem Horizont braute sich ein Tropensturm zusammen, Blitze zuckten viele Kilometer entfernt über den betörenden Farbverlauf des Himmels. 
Eine Stunde später sank ich erschöpft auf mein Lager. Durch die Öffnung meiner Höhle wehte ein immer kühlerer Wind. Das tobende Unwetter war nun ganz nah, kam zu mir, es sollte eine unruhige Nacht werden. Im flackernden Kerzenschein blätterte ich die Seiten in Quintus‘ Büchlein weiter. Und das Unbehagen kroch zu mir unter die Decke aus rissigem Stoff. Seite um Seite kam die Gewissheit näher.

For nearly two decades now Norway has been synonymous with disco music, artists such as Lindstrøm, Prins Thomas and Todd Terje redefining the genre.  Now, following in their footsteps, a new generation are breaking through and Even Hymer Gillebo, aka Cavego, has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting with acclaimed singles on labels such as Youth Control and Get Dancy and remixes for nu-disco stars like Satin Jackets and Blende.

Now signed to renowned Belgian label Eskimo Recordings, home to two seminal albums by Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, Cavego is set to solidify his reputation with his debut EP, the sparkling and playful ‘Gudbrandsdalen’. Named after the famous Gudbrandsdalen Valley, an iconic location in Norwegian literature and culture and where Cavego’s family have long kept a cabin, the EP’s genesis began last spring when he returned to the place he spent his formative years to collect the sounds of running creeks, birdsong, the wind in the grass and create music based on his childhood experiences.

With his collection of vintage synthesizers, carefully, relocated out to the remote cabin, these field recordings would go on to become the basis for the EP. ‘Hafjell’ is named after one of Norway’s most renowned ski resorts, and where the slalom and giant slalom events during the Olympics in 1994 were held. Inspired by the games the track’s atmospheric intro recalls a slalom skier inspecting the piste before launching off and navigating the slalom gates at exhilarating speed.

About Darryl 

Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Darryl Reeves is a saxophonist that effortlessly merges the lines between funk, soul & hip-hop, expressed from a platform rooted in jazz. Growing up in a musical family, Reeves attended the Northwestern Performing & Visual Arts Center in Miami. Moved by hip-hop samples originating from jazz, Reeves was led to being influenced by greats such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane. Reeves studied music at Jackson State University. He subsequently completed his Masters of Music at the University of New Orleans, where he studied with Terence Blanchard and performed on the scene with Delfeayo Marsalis. In 2004, Reeves released the funky and playful Diary of a Bandstand, to ample acclaim. It featured Robert Glasper, Russell Gunn & Quamon Fowler and cemented Reeves' reputation for presenting a new outlook on the sound, style and production of jazz music. Reeves has kept a steady hand in not being limited to any specific genre. Some know him just as well for his production in hip-hop. Reeves caught Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson's attention with his ingenious jazz-funk remixes of Jay-Z's Black Album, which was spun upon many of the drummer's dj sets. Recently in Atlanta, he has been the music director of many highly acclaimed live sets with Aishah Rashied Hyman's Spreadlove and DJ Kemit. He has performed and recorded with notable artists including Roy Ayers, The O'Jays, Frank McComb, Angie Stone, Kirk Whalum, Jill Scott, Phonte, Toku, Janelle Monae,  Young Jeezy, B.O.B. and T-Pain.
