Lisbon's Quiabo da Rua is a character defined by its afronostalgia, by past lives that he never lived, by the eclectic sounds that the African diaspora inscribed in Portuguese underground urban music. 808's & Afronostalgia is his first project that utterly embodies these influences.

Quiabo da Rua's second project is out! After afronostalgia comes, obviously, afrofuturism. Age of Afroempire combines samples of AoG's OST with a futurist aesthetic characterized by an almost utopic image where the Portuguese afro descendants become the ruling class - the new Afroempire.

Quiabo da Rua's third project is dedicated to his grandmother that passed away in 2021 - Maria José (Mizé). The atmosphere of this set continues the artist's experiment with Portuguese underground urban electronic music, mixing noise, industrial and techno motifs with African-inspired drums. The set is open for collaborating MC's, it lacks a voice and, at the same time, urges - in a reference to old hip-hop parties - for someone to fill this void and to hype its feeling.
