Queen Cobra began forming in August of 2012, when lead guitarist Brandon Taylor Gordon and singer Brianne Atkinson came together with some ideas of what they wanted to hear in Vancouver's current rock scene. With little time to write, before Brianne headed to the Okanagan to further her education, they met with Colin Budgell (rhythm guitarist) and wrote a few songs such as "Her Addiction" and "Hang Onto You". They continued to write music over the internet while Brianne was away. Brandon and Colin would email riffs to Brianne, she would write the lyrics and vocal melody and BAM! There was another song. That's where crowd favorites "Gamblin' Man" and "Heartsick Hobo" were born. When Brianne moved back to Vancouver in February of 2013 they entered "Battle of the Bands" at Ceilis winning third place over many of the great Vancouver bands that they competed against. Their current line up includes bass player, Drew Carnegie who has really filled out the sound of the entire band and adds some cool grove to the tunes. Queen Cobra will release their brand new EP "Dirty on the Floor" on February 22nd 2014. Make sure to check them out at one of their many Vancouver shows where you will be sure to be sprung out of your seat and onto the dance floor! Let Queen Cobra be your lifes anthem!
