Marcos Valle was born in Rio de Janeiro and took piano and music theory lessons as a young child. As he grew older he developed a taste for live music at bars and clubs, where he’d listen to jazz. 
With his brother, Paulo Sergio Valle, he wrote a number of hits and made his first album, Samba Demais in 1964. He headed to the United States the following year, where Walter Wanderley successfully recorded the song Samba de Verão. The songs  Preciso Aprender a Ser Só and Terra de Ninguém are also from that period as well as Samba de Maria, O Amor É Chama, Viola Enluarada (recorded with Milton Nascimento), Dia de Vitória, Gente, Seu Encanto and Ao Amigo Tom.

The second installment of Mr Bongo’s Marcos Valle Essential series. This time the focus is more on his easy listening and instrumental output.
The album also includes several Portuguese re-recordings of familiar songs such as Os Grilos, Seu Encanto and Chup Chup, I Got Away.

Island Time Radio: Mix 12 with Brandon D

Well who'd have thunk it? Half-a-hundred Forecasts deep and who better to help us celebrate this tenously important occasion than our pal Vio DJ? No one, that's who. Last we seen him he was helping us folk more familiar with altitude variance deal with the existential terror of being in a place as flat as Norfolk and we welcome him back into our world (albeit digitally) with this here collection of jammers. His regular show on dublab.de is a firm favourite of ours and if like us the rain has put a pin in all outdoor based fun we would recommend enjoying this and then going through his archive while doing indoor stuff, like jenga or grouting tiles for example.
