DJ, producer, radio show host and promoter, record distributor, club owner and well known for memorable DJ set's in after hours partys  : J. Daniel  has been many things during his long and successful electronic music career. But it is his first true love - DJing and producing electronic music - that has kept him rooted to the scene since he began mixing records . It is also the main reason for the  relaunch of his beloved Question of Time imprint in 2012.  A linchpin of Portugal's dance music scene, J. Daniel helped lay the foundation for much of the country's electronic music landscape -  organising the first parties in the country , then moving on to open Portugal's first ever after-hours club, Climacz, as well as the country's first dedicated electronic music record store, vinyl distribution company, and DJ agency. J.Daniel's regular eight hour DJ sets at Climacz earned him a reputation for being one of Europe's top party starters. As a result, he played at some of the world's most famous dance music spots in the world.  Now based in London he has resumed DJ and production in full swing.

The latest package to drop on the Black Butter doorstep is the DEVolution - "Arrival" EP: a classic three track affair with both barrels aimed squarely at the dance floor. 

Leading the way is My Friends, a track which started life as a bit of fun but soon became a viable single in its own right, with heavy support from 1Xtra's MistaJam and Radio 1's Annie Mac. The inclusion of two extra tracks makes this a weighty EP fully introducing DEVolution as a solid new production duo.

Over the Earth’ featuring remixes from Clive Henry & Rui Da Silva, J Daniel and AKB…
Anglo-Portuguese label Question of Time have been releasing some outstanding music over the past year, picking up support from DJs such as Dubfire, DJ Sneak, Laurent Garnier and MatthewB. 
Now the imprint returns to one of its favourite artists, the illusive and talented Aqob for the next release, taking his excellent ‘All Moving Over the Earth’ and getting it remixed by the great and the good.
The package kicks off with a remix from d1sCHØRDs AKA Clive Henry and Rui Da Silva who deliver a stripped and spacious tech fuelled house version that marries understated melodies with a solid and hypnotic rhythm section to superb effect. The second remix comes from Question of Time founder J Daniel who takes ‘All Moving Over the Earth’ and reworks it into a unique slice of electronic music that draws in elements and House, Techno and Ambient. Swirling FX and emotive piano chords play up against the off kilter drum programming and percussion to produce a truly original sounding record. Finally AKB turns in a short but sweet three minute mix of deep,dubby electronica that lets’ the heavily effected vocals shine, quality stuff.
This is a gem from Question of Time with a remix package that offers genuine variety from some talented producers, enjoy.
