For this piece I used the usual set of instruments included the library for the competition (Which generally I used pitched down an octave) but I also created my own little sample library of percussion which includes: a clock, music box, egg timer, smashed glass, and a piano lid slam.

Yay more music! This is a medley arrangement of multiple tracks from Super Mario Galaxy, for the Smash Bros arrangement album expansion Harmony of Heroes: Final Smash. If you enjoyed this, there's plenty more where that came from in the expansion, including Metal Gear, Megaman, Sonic, Zelda, etc.

Thanks goes to Laura Intravia for the wonderful flute performances done under very short notice. In fact, this whole track was done under short notice. In the space of just over two days, I spent over thirty hours on this track. So yep, basically non-stop work to get this done. I was disappointed that the aforementioned expansion album didn't have any Mario Galaxy music, and always wanted to arrange some of its music, so I decided to take on the crazy task of finishing this track in a couple of days. Didn't get much sleep, but it was WORTH IT.
I tried experimenting a little for this. It's basically an orchestral/chiptune mashup, with mostly orchestral supported by chiptune accompaniment/drums. Look forward to an entirely chiptune section later on though... it's my first time doing chiptune so I hope it's alright. This uses East/West Symphonic Orchestra Silver, Hollywood Brass Gold, Hollywood Strings Gold, Stormdrum 2, Omnisphere, Versilian Studios Marimba, mda ePiano, BiT BOX, Bleep, Magical 8-Bit, Sytrus, 3xOsc, and Vengeance. Also, those aren't the original Mario sound effects you're hearing in the background at some points. They're my own; hope I got them to sound like the real thing!
I worked very hard on this and consider it one of my best tracks to date. I hope you agree! Thanks for listening and comments would be much appreciated!

I was pleased to reprise my role as creator of the music for the second season of MAMMUT, the norwegian web-based crime-tale that can be watched here: https://www.glomdalen.no/mammut2---se-alle-episodene

The music included in this track, as well as a few more minutes included only in the actual web series, was made in approx. 5-6 days. I used samples from two free libraries, as well as some stuff included with Logic Pro 9, which was the software I used. Feel free to ask questions you might have.

MAMMUT Sesong 2 - Orchestral suite

Recorded in my basement studio in 1997 while living in Allendale NJ in the U.S.
using a PortaStudio 4-track. One mile up the road and through the trees lived Les Paul himself (inventor of 'sound on sound recording' & a big chunk of the electric guitar) in Mahwah. Just knowing he was so close pushed me to be as innovative as I could be with what I had at home....all the while working in multi-million-dollar recording studios in NYC that had everything......how ironic.

Only free software and samples were used.

I could imagine this track as a soundtrack to a sad or tragic scene in a movie.
This song is my first demo for the Pianobook project which I really enjoy and love - so many great free libraries, and what a community! Thanks to Christian Henson and to the Pianobook family for these great instruments. 
I used 4 Pianobook libraries – Family Grand, Echoes, Pointillism Guitar and Thrumming Textures Earth – and a bunch of other free stuff.
