CYRK is a live show and studio duo born from the visions of two Berlin-based producers, Samy Goossens and Pascal Hetzel. They have been playing around the world as a live act, bringing their Detroit-influenced blend of house, techno, acid, and electro to some of the world’s best dancefloors. From their extensive hardware set up, they fuse tough, eyes-down grooves with lively basslines and restrained, melodic atmospheres. Their studio work has led to acclaimed releases on Rawax, Burial Soil, Vakant, Avoidant, Dred, Lone Romantic, Science Cult, Discos Atonicos, and their own Time Zero label, as well as remixes for Fabrice Lig and T99. They just released their debut album on Childhood.

Exactly one year after his 2021 release entitled 'The Electro Manifesto', DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2021 and early 2022. This 25-track album is another thematic nod to class struggle with the hope to stir class consciousness in listeners. Every song title makes reference to some tenant of the destructive and unequal economic system called capitalism as well as its ever-looming shadow socialism. Even the album cover borrows inspiration from Soviet-era propaganda, re-adapting the artistic styles of many communist agitators. 

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-101, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor for the Electro community for the last 11 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear, and more. This album is available for $15 USD

DVS NME - Agitation Propaganda

Berlin-based label Burial Soil proudly presents a collaborative electro album initiated by CYRK. 

For their album „Freundschaft“ CYRK has collaborated with Steffi, Anthony Rother, Ravn Jonassen, JakoJako, Jensen Interceptor, Alienata, Nite Fleit and David Carretta. 

Over the last few years electro has had a massive resurgence. 
Since then, a new generation of producers has taken the genre under the microscope, recombining classic tropes and influences in new ways. CYRK is among the list of artists consistently pushing all things electro to new heights with forward thinking, dancefloor shattering and bass-heavy concoctions ready to turn your favorite club dance floor into a sea of spaced-out euphoria. 

Early 2020, they decided to reach out to some of their producer friends as well as artists they’ve been admiring for years, to collaborate on tracks. As they see it, the electro scene is a very close-knit community and it felt more than appropriate to support each other this way. 
A few emails were sent, a few calls made, and a list of heavy-hitters was assembled to exchange files and jam together remotely or in-person in CYRK’s basement studio: Klakson and Dolly label owner Steffi, Anthony Rother, Burial Soil label buddy Ravn Jonassen, JakoJako, Jensen Interceptor, Alienata, Nite Fleit and French veteran David Carretta. 

BPMs are high on the eight tracks of “Freundschaft”, the end result of this collaborative process, incorporating various influences from electro-adjacent styles like italo, EBM or, unsurprisingly, techno.

Dutch producer and DJ Orlando Voorn should need little introduction - he’s been making waves for around 30 years, providing some of the key audio building blocks for the bridge between Holland and Detroit back in the day and excelling at everything he touches. A true creative soul.

Whilst rooted in Techno, those who know his work will know he is a versatile producer who draws on a wide set of influences and a deep musical education. The Hunting Season EP provides three solid cuts that bear this point out, and in style.

The title tracks brings a ferocious groove, big warehouse beats and a skittish synth hook that’s sure to stimulate body and mind. Heading to track two, Quick Thinking, things get tougher with pounding drums and a pattern that blends Electro and broken Techno brilliantly as distorted atmospherics spin and build around your head. The EP closes with The Point of No Return, a mellower cut that brings Orlando’s Detroit connection and passion to the forefront.

Glory Podcast #33 Slaves of Sinus ( Guest 808 Mix )

He started DJ’ ing in 1999 after his studies as an architectural designer in Brussels.
At first techno and electro on a pair decks of a friend. In 2000 he was already selected for the semi-finales of "DJ Mania", this was his first public appearance as a DJ. A few gigs on small parties and some private parties where the results. At the same time he was asked to join the Dogstyle party collective, as a resident and organizer for different underground events. In the meanwhile he also began playing drum'n'bass. Together with Marcozz and Cube, his partners in crime from Dogstyle, Quill rocked the decks on parties on different locations with international and national guests. The Dogstyle crew joined forces with DJ Peak and started the Phuzionz parties at the Silo, with lots of international and national guests.

Along with Marcozz (back then DJ Dust) he created the Digital Clones concept. They teamed up to spin drum'n'bass or electro-breakz. Check www.digitalpunks.net for all info. This wasn't the end of Quill's solo career, he just gave his Digital Clones project with Marcozz a higher priority. He continued playing solo sets recognizable by his typical style and sound. He evolved from his typical techno sound to a more electro-injected style.

He got involved in different projects and organizations: Naranja, Relax Festival and Villa Basta. These participations resolved in a lot of gigs for Quill and also for Digital Clones. This brought him on parties and clubs all over with international and national DJ's and live-acts. 

DJ-sets as Quill and Digital Clones, Digital Clones party’s, Naranja residencies, Clone Radio on Villa Basta and organizing the Relax Festival where all on his busy schedule. The next step was producing, this evolution resulted in wider variety of music in his DJ-sets and productions, elements of house, minimal and classics where added. He started investing in material for his home-studio and is now experimenting with his gear to create his own sound and style.
