"I first started making electronic music when my friend discovered an online DAW named Audiotool back in 2012. I fell in love with making many different styles and starting producing as a hobby in my free time under the alias abstract. At the time I was playing trumpet in my high school’s jazz band and started to infuse my music with jazz elements, inspired by producers like Haywyre, Anomalie, and Koan Sound. In 2016 I switched over to Ableton and started producing under the alias Frij. With Frij, I continued to explore and refine my sound, producing dubstep, future bass, ambient, trap, lo-fi, drum & bass, future garage, and electronic jazz fusion tracks. At the time, I was also going to college and majoring in jazz composition, which led to me using complex jazz chord progressions and improvised lead solos in many of my tracks. I decided to capitalize on those tendencies and merge them with modern electronic trap in my release with ZenSupremacy. Trajectory features catchy, high energy lead lines throughout as well as a chord style reminiscent of the producer Laxcity. The track is finished with an emotional piano outro that winds the track down on an introspective note. When I was making Trajectory, I was most inspired by the producer enuar, who I first discovered after releasing on the same Good Society compilation in 2020. Trajectory is my nod to his vibey, melodic trap style that adds my own high energy lead solos and keyboard playing to the mix." - @frijmusic
