This piece was composed by Quinta, Ed Dowie and Chris Reed for a filmed adaptation of Jorge Luis Borges' beautiful story, Circular Ruins.    

The Paper Cinema: Circular Ruins (excerpt)

This track was written as part of a commission by the Southbank Centre for the Women of The World Festival- a performance and digital installation developed by acrobatic troupe, Mimbre and premiered at the WOW festival in March 2015. The piece comments on the lack of recognition for female writers, particularly in theatre.

Manifesto was a mixed arts performance series and artist network set up by Quinta and Elisa de Grey of the 5&6 physical theatre ensemble.  Every part of putting on an event was intended to be creative and memorable, from inviting artists to take part to collaborating to marketing to the night itself. Rebels And Freethinkers for BBC's Hear Her series

Quinta is a London-based multi-instrumentalist performer, improviser and experimental composer.  

As well as her solo project, Quinta has worked with Bat for Lashes, Lamb, Penguin Café, Marques Toliver, Patrick Wolf, and Radiohead’s Philip Selway, as well as pioneering ‘paperteers’, The Paper Cinema and award-winning acrobatic troupes Ockham's Razor and Mimbre.

She was 2015/16 Music Fellow at Rambert Dance Company and is one quarter of all-female experimental arts collective, Collectress (www.collectress.co.uk).

She mainly plays keyboards, violin, viola, musical saw and ukelele, but dips into a bigger box of tricks including lever harp, recorder, melodica, and glockenspiel when adventures call.
