Tuesday night, Burning Man, 2014. 1AM. Starting at 10 and L and ending up somewhere in deep Playa. Being the so called "captain of the bus", driving into the middle of nowhere with an endless tail of flickering lights behind me, was an experience I will never, ever, forget.

After 10 years of doing a Friday night party at Burning Man, Honey Soundsystem decided to end it all with a bang. Normally a renegade rave happening inside the city at the Comfort & Joy camp, Honey Dusted X took to the inner playa and did a final trip out in the open. Climbing aboard the recklessly packed BAAAHS art car, Jennifer Cardini took to the decks at Midnight (a champagne toast hosted by Tickled Mink happening simultaneous around the dancefloor). A more friendly departure then the razor sharp techno set she played two nights before on the Mayan Warrior, Cardini took gay burner revelers to town with a cool blend of house, disco, and thumpers. The vibes were thick and by the time "Sueno Latino" started fading into the speakers there wasn't a queen nearby that wasn't asking who the hell just took them to church.

Der Mitschnitt unserer Jubiläumsparty im Kassablanca, Jena mit ATA.

Vor 20 Jahren im Oktober entschlossen sich vier Musikbegeisterte aus Jena eine eigene Radiosendung auf die Beine zu stellen. Der kurz vorher gegründete Offene Kanal Jena war nicht nur Anlaß, sondern auch Refugium von Nicola Candelaria, Jan Hobrack, Robert Cutter und Mikk, diese Idee umzusetzen. RADIO ELECTRONICA war geboren! Wir wollen dieses Ereignis mit einer wilden und ausgelassenen Party mit Euch zusammen feiern und haben uns ein besonderes Line-Up einfallen lassen. Lange haben wir gegrübelt, welcher Act am besten zu 20 Jahren elektronischer Musikgeschichte in Jena passen würde. Jemand, der tief in der elektronischen Musik verwurzelt ist und so musikalisch aus den Vollen schöpfen kann und zudem die Leute auf der Tanzfläche führen und abholen kann. Mit diesen Kriterien an der Hand viel unsere Wahl auf keinen geringeren als ATA!

Nicht nur das ATA selbst gerade mit seinem legendären Club Robert Johnson das 20. Jubiläum feiert, es ist nun auch fast 15 Jahre her, dass ATA das letzte Mal im Kassablanca zu Gast war. Grund genug ihn bei uns begrüßen zu dürfen. Insgesamt liest sich seine Bio wie ein Musterbeispiel für den Werdegang im elektronischen Musikbereich. In den späten 80ern beeinflusst von Hip Hop und Kraftwerk, war es dann ein Besuch in einem Club in Barcelona, wo ihn Acid House und der lokale DJ den Anstoß gaben eigene Parties zu organisieren und hinter den Plattentellern zu stehen. So hatte er eigene Nächte in legendären Clubs wie Omen, dem Dorian Gray oder dem XS. Nebenbei arbeitete er in Frankfurts einflussreichsten Plattenläden Boy Records und Delirium. Von da war es nicht weit eigene Labels wie Playhouse, Klang und Ongaku Anfang der 90er Jahre zusammen mit Heiko MSO, Jörn Elling Wuttke und Roman Flügel zu gründen. Und zu guter Letzt, ist er Feinschmecker und Modeliebhaber.
