THE CROWE SPEZIAL

Alex Crowe from shoe-gaze duo SynthesizeHer splits off to create her debut solo album "Rough as Guts." With no prior recording or production experience, her lo-fi home-baked album proves to be an intimate and revealing diary and a lesson in both music and love. 

"Rough As Guts" was recorded on Garageband over the span of nearly two years in various bedrooms located in the Australia, the U.S., and Mexico. Layers of vocals combined with the odd guitar track and the banging of house-hold objects come together to create a somewhat dark and moody album diverse in genre and heavily inspired by but in no ways resembling Frank Ocean's "Blonde".

Australian-born, Germany-based Alex Crowe aka Quirky Powerz builds groovy, offbeat journeys through microhouse and melodic deep tech. Her sets blend tight rhythms with a curious edge, keeping dancers engaged, bouncing, and just a little surprised. 
She is also the co-creator and front woman of shoe-gaze band Synthesize Her and from time to time, she produces too.
