drone enforcer with a bit of techno drive to push never ending strain, that not only exists to flather the inner sense of escapism, but also to mold a 
specific attitude. And that attitude is a brand that sticks.

Et Boum ! C'Est Le Groove (Original Mix)
Second, in the series, carries the same level of notion. Parts of it are more gentle, but with the same amount of brutality. Strangely it has some divine 
almost more mysterious angle. That adds a major shift in direction, not as noticeable, but still something to pay attention to. Digging deeper into the 
underbelly of this track, turmoil and lack of control seem to find their way into our conscious and becomes more and more evident.

Perfect track for a long night drive. As it ideally depicts the enigma of the nightfall and the dancing city lights, if lucky enough the stillness of the stars
above that hides the secrets of their own. Relaxing and indulging, quietly infiltrating into our minds and telling us, to not only think of ourselves as the 
isolated individuals stuck on this planet with no opportunity to truly know what's out there but to try to expand our horizons, these melodies let us 
imagine and fantasize how things might be out there, in that endless void.

Ding... Brutal (Favio Inker Remix)
This version of Ding Brutal has more audacity to it. It feels as if it is trying to speed you up. Make you move and think faster. It has that feeling of 
escalation. Favio Inker made everything that is possible to constantly preserve your attention as a listener. Pretty much at the very end of this Remix, 
Favio Inker relocated the whole mood into another dimension, thus easing the so-called stress that was built at the very beginning. And that is a very nice 
contrast he managed to pull off.

Et Boum ! C'Est Le Groove (Rem's Martinez Remix)
Calm and calculated start, if we compare it to the original, the entity and the amount of softness of the song is almost the same, but with the addition of 
vocals, I'd say it is even more gentle and refined. The major change and the bait of this version is the provocative and seductive voice. It practically begs 
you to give in and savor the moment on the grounds that there might never be another one like this.

Heftig (Yellowteeth Remix)
Here we go with Yellowteeth's alteration, a careful attempt with loads of joyful sounds and absolutely enchanting elements of mysticism. Moving 
between these two seemingly incompatible fields, our DJ managed to create a festive tour. Reminding us once again, that fusing elements from different 
spheres are not only possible but can also be a bliss. This variant is like an amusing, but cryptic brother of the primary source.

Amselmoor is Sebastian Selm, a name that’s build from two German words “Amsel” which means: Blackbird and “Moor” which refers to an uncultivated land. One of the projects of the Mexican producer Luis Fernando Hernández, head of the Bonkers label, entitled LFB, comes to an end. From the distant EP "Elements" on Borderless Project three years ago, to Illegal Alien's Myths and Legends and multiple original mixes and remixes on Bonkers, LFB is ready to lower the curtain. " I don't think that I have to state the fact that the foundation of the song is a guitar. The most commonly used instrument in the music industry. And by far it doesn't feel overused at all. The melody of the main riff and the supporting sounds quickly reminded me of a certain artists and musicians.
This is going to sound crazy for some of you, but these are the ones that came to my mind after listening to this track:
Phil Collins, Foster the People, the Killers, Lady Gaga, and surprise surprise - Selena Gomez. I know, I'm insane!!!
Jumping straight to the themes, I can say with full confidence, it is no doubt filled with mystery, sci-fi, and a bit of an old-school detective aura.
Delighted by the Native American elements in this remix (as modest as they are), the others are expected, but the way they are scattered across the song, you can definitely classify it as a progressive tune, don't get me wrong it doesn't reach it's climax as you would expect, at the end, it goes back to where it started. 
But it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad thing. We're talking about dark disco. The style that has to have some emptiness at some points in the song. This is essential, especially for the endings. 
Overall, the song tends to change it's emotions, for some it can be off-putting, however, in my opinion - it is part of a charm." - Quixotical Music psychoanalyst Vidas Stanynas.

"It begins with a promise of suspense and mystery. Dark and groovy bass does the thing. After a strong introduction track jumps to some weird and unusual sound design that gives some vitamin D for your muscles to have more energy on the dance floor. Can't hold a theme throughout the track which forces you to think and wait for what's coming up next. It's like a mash up of a few different ideas that merge into one complete masterpiece. I personally prefer a darker motives, that this track indeed does offer. But...is it fully dark from it's core or is it just simply 50 shades of dark? That's is a question which you must answer by yourself while listening to this track.

"Sounds are layed out very carefully, so much thought was put into placing them in the right spot, creating this BAIT effect.
Just like hunters were placing traps back in the day, expecting to catch a prey, memorizing every single one of them so the pursuit that they initiated in the first place, won't be of theirs. 
This track is played in m key, what I mean by that is minimalism. One small sound is replaced by another, then comes back a little bit later
in a different form as if it has a life of its own. It's not over squeezed or infused with unnecessary intensity. If I had to put a label on it, there's only one word for what I've heard - mind trance. Reminds me of MIB or Ghostbusters animated series soundtracks from 2000's.

"Mostly it's fun and engaging, but don't take my first impressions for granted just yet. "Feeling" by Cali Burton sets a tone from the very beginning, but manages to swipe it here and there, especially with singing parts and some transitions that occur only a few times.
It would be no surprise if this song was strongly influenced by worldwide known artists such as Foster The People, The Killers, or Blur. But maybe it has nothing to do with any of them. Although you cannot deny the analogy, the resemblance is there.
Once in a while artists unintentionally make something sound so familiar that instantly forces us to look around and search for the answers. When mostly the main focus should be the song at hand. There's nothing wrong with the reminders, sometimes they just make us fall in love with a track.
Every piece should strike a chord inside each and every one of us, that's how it works, feeling it, is the most important thing.
While listening to the combination of sounds that Burton presented to us, without any hesitation I made some connections to certain memories, ideas, and subjects. Saying that makes it sound sad, but here we go again, don't take this the wrong way. It's more uplifting rather than gloom, the thing is - it has its own strange "mechanism of balance". It's a bliss to listen to. Cheerful and charming, but at the same time - controlling. It doesn't try to make you grumpy in any way, but it pushes these small fragments of mystery haze and obscurity, not much, but just enough to suggest, that nothing is entirely as colourful or as bright as it may seem. "Delicately laid introduction, smooth fade-in, and amazingly executed swishes and swooshes, not only in the beginning but throughout the whole song, sets a strong foundation and holds up till the very end. Not to mention the clever use of synths and other gloomy electronic elements that not only casts a bright light to hint at a genre but also to set a certain mood. Despite being a new incarnation of disco, it has a distinct house flavor. As pretty much every dance song in the industry, it has this engaging and also charming synth-bass sequence, for some it might seem overused and can get annoying over time, but I always say this - "if it fits, it sits". Just as I am a fan of this particular bass practice in the songs, I am also a fan of sonar sounds and especially the combination of both - bass and sonar, if done right and this track delivers without any doubt, I'm sold. However, this isn't quite the selling point of this wonderful track. What got me hooked, was something else. I would say it was a blend of pretty much everything Tantra had to offer in this anthem of sorts, although a few elements stood out above the rest. The sophisticated use of wind instruments with the addition of vocal inclusion was spot on, the mix of these two just added a life-like experience, cultural mirroring phenomenon was so present, it made me so involved, I completely lost a track of time. Speaking about time, I usually avoid songs that are longer than 7 minutes or so, and when I saw the duration of this song, I was like - "Oh man, this is gonna be a drag". 
But fortunately, this James Rod edit surprised me in more ways than I can imagine. I strongly recommend this beautiful and so down-to-earth masterpiece, that not only provides a solid listening experience but is also technically dense and arranged in the most explicit way possible." - Quixotical Music psychoanalyst Vidas Stanynas.

"Gloomy and frightening, that’s how I imagine this piece. I won’t analyze it the same way as I always do, but I will tell you the story that I’ve heard while I was listening to it.
The detective comes to the crime scene, his every step resonates, he sees the girl's body, nauseating doubt, and bittersweet tension overwhelm him. There are swarms of thoughts running through his head, he cannot concentrate on the prevailing chaos caused by the killer. 
The screeching noise that is dormant in this ungodly space - intoxicates ones mind, prevents a man from thinking straight, from seeing the important details, but only becoming a part of that noise, no matter how disorienting it is, can help to unravel the gruesome details of this heinous crime. 
Once isolated from the flashing lights of the police beacons, never-ending roaming of the police officers, the cries of frightened people, and their incoherent stories, he finally begins to see everything through the eyes of the unrighteous. Suddenly that noise merges with the grim environment, another melody begins to dominate, the vague, but endlessly soothing, it becomes a solace to his ears and without any encouragement, lends a hand in putting the missing pieces of the puzzle together. 
Suddenly, everything is shed in a new light. A woman's voice becomes apparent, a simple echo from the past, a helping hand relentlessly pointing a finger at what is critical. 
Every vibration is a clue, a translucent path that must be followed and it must be done without any hesitation, even if it might lead him to a dead-end... 
We are all interested in secrets, inexplicable things, unexplored riddles, fantastic worlds beyond our comprehension. Curiosity makes people unique, if something catches our attention, as it is in this case, we don't stop halfway. We explore and if we find it even remotely interesting, we get engaged. Collaborating with Della, an Argentine DJ/producer based in Barcelona, who from his Cool But Dangerous studio participates mixing, producing and adding his voice on “Hills”, sweet and acid progressively harmonious like the view from above, and “Aventura” that gives the EP its name with collaboration by Karen Colman, a Korg and some beach drums to run through the sand. “Dark paradise” the dark side of the ep, inviting the devil to have a drink in the garden.

It goes without saying that this piece has a brutally established formula, and watching it go through this process of "self unravel", is not only an incredible experience but also a rewarding one.

Funboys is the musical partnership of Audun and a.d.a.m. baby, ably assisted by Poodfy. The three have their roots in club scenes spanning more than three decades, stretching from Oslo and Antwerp, ending up on Australia’s Gold Coast.

The Apparatuses EP is a collection oddball jams blending hardware and organic instrumentation. The result is refreshingly left-of-centre, showcasing the trio’s bent take on somewhat danceable music.


"Off it goes, with a tropical sensation mixed with that unforgtable emotion you get, just before the thunderstorm begins. This track has a lot expandable character to it. Step down doesn't stay in one place, it tends to move around and play with different kind of styles, from electronic to more funky sounds, from there it goes into psychodelic state and it still doesn't seem to reach any sort of borderland. And that my friends is one of the selling points of this tune. What I can relate to, is one thing - roughness. Funboys certainly weren't afraid to incorporate that property and mess with it. 
This gives both rage and drive gut reaction, infused with outlandish warmth, which is kinda strange. But we're not looking for ordinary tunes, are we? 
Even though, the selection of sounds, melodies and the whole arrangement is highly influenced by a certain period of time, we all know, that things never stay buried for too long. And from my perspective, this is a great thing. Everything goes in circles. What was long forgotten is brought back to life, sooner or later, it does not matter. Hailing from Munich, Alemao has been on the road for quite some time now. In his more-than-a-decade-long journey, he has not only lived but also rocked the boat in many European cities, always focusing on delivering high-quality dance-floor-oriented electronic music without respecting boundaries when it comes to fusing and twisting his many an influence. Cosmic Afro, Cosmic Disco, Trance, House, Techno… everything he has ever got in touch with is there, somehow, in his still not abundant but creative output.

In his debut on Quixotical Records, the cool Vilnius/Buenos Aires-based label steered by Poulper (SXDNS146/FREEDL028) and Aurum Miles, his “Rawheit” EP proves the point and showcases the capabilities of the skilled artist. On the remix duties, Favio Inker, Rem's Martinez (SXDNS108), and Yellowteeth.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere pays a tribute to the groove. In French, not in German as expected, though. “Et Boum! C'Est Le Groove”, despite a certain minimalistic atmosphere, gathers many elements that enrich the theme. Arpeggiated synth layers, ominous stabs, rhythmic leads, and percussive elements get seamlessly together to deliver a hefty and well-constructed cut.

Cali Burton's (@caliburton) Remix is a different take on 'Tócame'. To some degree, this feels more like a dark tale of a bright and funky original. However, it maintains the substance and integrity but changes the formula. The track becomes more serious, despite a detuned and a bit comical intro. The arrangement is spot on, every single beat and every single sound has a place of it's own. The inclusion of a piano and electronic guitar gave this sense of fulfillment and progression, which we'd all agree are important. Not going so far from the path, but striding just far enough is the ideal middle ground for finding the right angle, it gives us a different perspective and it is very impressive and admirable when someone is able to see how the horizon can be altered to a certain point, but also remain the same in it's essence.

The cool Vilnius/Buenos Aires-based label, expertly curated by Aurum Miles and Poulper (SXDNS146/FREEDL028), Quixotical Records, opens its doors to H, a Mexican duo whose interesting multi-genre sonority consists in combining acoustic and electronic instruments in order to deliver a fresh take on Techno, French Touch, and Funk with the influence of Latin music elements. The single "Tócame", for instance, brings the duo flirting with their Deep & Soulful influences by delivering a smooth and sexy cut which was properly twisted and entangled by the competent team of talents invited to remix it: Cali Burton, Chinosynth (FREEDL021), Cubebass, and Poulper himself were not afraid to bring the title track to their own turfs and come up with extremely different interpretations of it.

Take Cubebass’ version for example: The young and skilled Mexican producer started his assignment by speeding things up – from 120 to 175 BPM (!) – and then converting the sober 4x4 pattern into a frenzied breakbeat structure. The outcome: A stunning Drum & Bass remix with a Jazzy and sophisticated gait – still smooth and sexy, but with a more KAPOW! aura, in our humble opinion. Kudos!

Comparing the original to the beautifully crafted remix by Aurum Miles, certain changes and improvements are basically evident, you can actually see them, by just listening. In contrast, this remake is very bold and provocative, in the sense it has one special quality that the primary version did not possess - audacity. And this just adds a new flavor to already masterful architecture. It's always interesting to hear a different take on the same track because it keeps the original alive and builds a profound legacy. These alterations always make you go back to the source, and revisit the "one" that spawned them all.

To be extremely faithful to Etane's "Prosti", soundly it is absurdly arresting and atmospheric, the other thing that pops up is that the main subject seems to be, how should I put it? Oh yeah getting lost. At the same time, this tune manages to entice its listeners to get lost with it and most importantly - in it.
This track just reeks of confusion and distress. The most crucial thing about the whole design is that the "enigma" that gives this track so much strength, never evaporates.

Suspense is the first word that comes to mind when you start listening to this track. The "first" rendition had the same thing, but somehow it felt hidden. @warnesmusic is an electronic duo from Buenos Aires formed by @lucareofficial and @caliburton who express their art through live sets. Their sound search turns to indie-electronics and performance in a band format for the dance floor.

3rd track "EMERSON 116" for "Tapes to Go" series is coming from two amigos of Maleante Records - Globemaster and Corresponsal. "EMERSON 116" is a penthouse in Mexico City where these guys spend a few days while playing gigs all around the city and having moments with their old friends. Flashbacks of a great time inspired Globemaster and Corresponsal to recreate amazing memories into musical form. 

The beginning of the track is taut but secured. Rising slowly with a straight beat part, heart-type pumping bass, and main synth theme colored with subtle and intangible fxs. Latin dance percussions come at the peak and continue till the end impacting the vibe in a very positive way. The whole groove and emotion of the track definitely will transfer you to "EMERSON 116" penthouse to feel the moment that lasts till now.

Globemaster is a Mexican sound engineer and producer born in Torreón, co-founder of Próximo, and part of teamwork of Maleante Records.
His influences are rock, some post-punk, and rave music, which leads him up to techno, psychedelic, and indie dance mixed sounds.

Corresponsal is DJ and producer from Torreón North Mexico, co-founder of Maleante Records, and part of the Próximo team.
