On sunday, september 27th, I attempted to commit suicide.

This has been after over a year of battling depression and stress. A year and a few months ago, I started at a gymnasium (which is basically a mix of high school and college, in danish terms), far away from home. It's been really hard to hold any form of contact with most of my friends since I started there, so I've been pretty much alone. I've had a rough schedule too. I've had to get up at 5 in the morning, go through 12 hours of monotone work among gray blocks, uninspiring environments, and the most demotivating class I've ever met. When I've come home at 5 in the afternoon, I've had increasingly more work to do, by now reaching the point where there's not enough hours in a day for me to get through it all. And it's had its toll on me.

I've lost sleep, talking to anyone has become more and more of a struggle, and through it all, I've grown more and more apathetic and desperate. After a bad fight on that day with my significant other, one that had spun over several days

I gave up.

I was standing by a road, ready to run out in front of the first car I saw. I had lost control, lost any feeling that the life I was living was truly my own. I've felt like I lost control, like the life I was living wasn't truly my own. The only thing I had left at this point to express myself was the music I'm making, and even that was starting to wane as I just never had time.

I remember how I felt while standing there, waiting to make the final decision. I felt... powerful, most of all. I could choose completely whether I was gonna go through one more day of this endless monotony that my life had become, or lose it all.

I'm so thankful that no cars came, because I got time to reflect. I got time to think about how many new people I've met throughout the last year or so, all the memories I've made and all the incredible people I've got to befriend through this career. So many memories that maybe aren't as vivid to me as how my life has been before, but are still incredibly important and dear to me. Life goes on, people come and go, and in the end,

losing it all won't eliminate the chance of things becoming worse. it only stops things from becoming better.

I turned back. After 30 minutes of being ready to end myself, I decided to turn back.

I'm sorry that I've been so quiet about this, I'm sorry that I've never told you guys how horrible I feel at times. I don't want anyone feeling like I'm gonna go away, because I'm not. I've tried all I could to be cheerful towards as many as I could, because the genuine happiness I get back is the best therapy I could ever ask for. I'm okay now, I've done what I could to recover and move on.

And to everyone who read through all of this... Thank you. Please don't ever consider doing the same thing I was about to do. Life goes on, people come and go, and at times, it might be hard to remember how much you matter. But you're incredibly precious, there are people out there whom you mean the world to, and things will always get better. Your life won't stay the way it is now, so stick around just one more day to see just how much better things will become, ok?
