Truly a hip hop renaissance man, Quote is an element seldom seen in the hip hop industry. Independently producing videos, designing artwork, and recording his captivating delivery of lyrics chock full of metaphorical imagery and versatile rhyme patterns over self-produced beats that stir the soul, Quote has been referred to by peers in the industry as non-commercial, self-sufficient, a backpack/underground writer, and even "the smartest rapper in Dub-V (West Virginia)".  

Drawing inspiration from sources that vary from punk rock, transcendentalist writers, tribal drumming, and Dadaism to Harlem Renaissance jazz, Hunter S. Thompson, Conceptual Art, Mozart, and Rakim; Quote exemplifies as a well-rounded artist, using rhythm, melody, and words as brush strokes to vividly paint pulsating poetry with a sound and subject matter that is purely original and constantly adapting.

Quote made his first appearance as a hip hop artist in 2005 when, after having written a few verses in hip hop form, he began performing at hip hop open mic night at 123 Pleasant St. shortly thereafter he and the Morgantown based funk rock band the Slow Boys began collaborating on songs and booking shows at the Corner Cafe and a variety of house parties.

Though he loved the experiences and was given positive feedback, Quote had not viewed his role as an emcee as something to be taken seriously until 2006 when he met and began working with a team of other Morgantown area emcees including Profit Money, D-why, Holt Dizzee, Mischeivious, Cfx, and Jcart. With the help of D-why, Quote recorded his demo ep "Starter Fuel and Filament". Soon after, the team of emcees established Ill League Entertainment.

Quote released his debut lp "Brainstorms" in 2007 and followed up with "Take Warning" in 2008 before the original Ill League disbanded and Profit Money, the former manager of Ill League handed the organization over to Quote.

From there, Quote has recreated Ill League along with Haven Write and The Con, to make a name that guaranteed creativity, quality, and originality.  The new Ill League Entertainment released Quote’s  “…You Were Warned: The Take Warning Remixes” in 2008 and followed up with “Angel of Music: The Lost Phantom of The Opera Freestyles and Remixes”, and “The Beatdown: The Profit Money & DJ Coutz Beat Battle Album” in 2009 and “Buddha & Bullets” in 2010.  The label also coordinated a number of live events including The Christian Help Benefit Show and Arts In Motion before finally disbanding in 2011.

After that, Quote took a break from music production to complete college and plan the launch of his new label: Kaleicroscopic Media, a multimedia production services company specializing in audio, video, and design.  With Kaleicroscopic Media, Quote plans to reestablish himself as an artist of all sorts with a style that promises to continue attracting audiences with diverse tastes – starting with the release of his new album, “Patience: I Gave A Rib For This”, coming Valentine’s Day, 2013.
