BR 800 SD 2 VALU / Ritchies Driver

Lyrics and guitar written played and sung by Kevin Herlehy pictured , a former decker charter driving colleague of mine from and still with Ritchies
I later edited and layered over with a couple of synth tracks as well as a live drum track
He told me at the time of recording he wrote this song after his former misses of that time basically dumped him back in the day,
Not quite sure but by the sounds of it according to the song sounds like she run to the hills
What a Classic 
In my opinion this tune turned out quite good or so I thought even though he forgot his own lyrics toward the end but still as is, 
Were still a top effort and actually were one of my personal fave's of that time and even still to this day ,
Actually caught up with this guy just recently on charter doing pretty much the same job, 
So snapped a shot of him finally to give him credit where credits due,
As now he can add to his resume actual proof , humbly of course of also being a part time Blues / Rock Star,
And make future encounters with the ladies go weak at there knees ,
And who knows maybe even throw there knickers at him at first  glance and chase him down the street ,

Ends to an error and Beginning's of another
Company wise anyways not possible potential as I have found there are at least a couple whom have same like minded spare time interests
This is Ben's composition on the Guitar, 
I later hurriedly added soft synth strings and live drum track,
Should have taken a bit more time to nail down better but can always go back to for at a later stage for now

Ben is unforetunately no longer with us here at Johnstons as he has since passed on and gone to Bayes which is a bugga 
Wouldn't have minded doing a bit more with em with what time we had spare which eventuated after shifts purely but coinkadink after having finished the same time after a late shift,


BR 800 : Logic Ben 2

  I Duno , just toiling around and seem to come up with this simple melodic rhythm by mistake which I found seem to stick so just went with it
Probably edit a bit later 
Mainly just stuck it on here as a reference to myself to listen to shortly before heading off to my day job which now after listening too for a little while now feel such does hold up and has further potential 

Had initially started this demo twanging away on Pro Tools with in a gat modelling 11 rack interface preset called (Shuttle Home ) but couldn't quite remember how I imported my live drums into the mix with in this particular DAW not having used for a little while due mainly to not being the most reliablest of music software program's to work with in my experience,

 So ended up exporting or bouncing to my desktop and then importing into Logic Pro before Pro Tools potentially crashed or spat the dummy in one way or another as history would typlically have had it
As I feel a lot more comfortable interfacing with in the workings with in Logic which I have personally found to be an a lot more stable as well as user friendly software to work with which I also feel is more kind of like working with a more in depth or fully featured version of garage band which basically is what it more or less is but with a lot more potential

Had initially thought of just redoing this demo completely from scratch being mainly what seemed to be a rather messy 3 take 2 track measure of uncertainty 
Where I feel I dropped the ball in both instrumental departments but ironically at the same time with in a comprehensive scratchy kind of way feel is what also seemed to appeal to me at the same time in an almost not totally quite completely kind of imperfect way 

Which I feel I would never be able to recreate even if I tried 

For better or for worse 

 Being able to capture that specific vibe spark or moment in time of influence to memory and recollect with pin point accuracy upon revisting  

Which ironically is what seems to appeal to me the most over repetitive  analytic efforts of trying to get it perfect putting at risk the reasoning ,urge or loss of way as to why such potential even became of such influence in the first place to begin with,

As I feel personally seems to be the same with all

May look into maybe adding some bass and strings at a later stage as some one previously who knows who had logically as well as

This is Kuini's version or take of one of his homelands favorites songs recorded here at Johnstons with what time that has eventuated and allowed such moments to come to pass 
I just ended up putting down a live drum track as per usual just to help accommodate ,
This guy on the gat Humbly seems to be some kind of effortless natural and could definitely show me a thing or 2 on the gat side of things possibly in future thats for sure, 
But ultimately time will tell ,
I feel a connection to this tune and feel it contains all the wright ingredients to incorporate  that certain gel factor even although I kind of feel I or maybe even we may have kind of blown it toward the end loosing our way with in the time sig of this melody somewhat ,
But at the same time must remember that with what limited time we did have wern't really that bad for a one take track at a time wonder
This melody consisted of 2 gat tracks a bass track and a live drum track 

Samoan Siva intro

This tune I found seemed to have reminded me of some of the old songs I can kind of recollect hearing somewhat with in the pacific island church seine when I use to get dragged along by my mum to sit into something that were completely alien to me not being able to understand a single word  but at the same time felt totally humbled relaxed and absorbed by all the high octaves coming from the women and the low octaves from the men not to forget drums on old biscuit tins and chairs and tribal homeland Tokelaun tribal dances that would follow and amalgamate into a vocal symphonic festive spectical ,
And upon my next interlude with Kuini played this track back to him and explained to him how and what it reminded me of to which he confirmed were actually pretty much more or less the situation and origins of where such a melody were spawned from ,
Which in turn then left me thinking ,
Well how the bonkers did I somehow know that yet alone you recreate that vibe or uncanny recollective on the gat,
Not that I didn't realistically already know the answer to that because I did ,
As I were the one responsible at the time for my master wing it approach to on the spot mixing and recorded input levels on the BR whilst such were in the process of eventuation,
 
This tune were a 2 or maybe 3 track rhythm lead and bass gat take with a live drum track once again thrown in later just for a bit of depth or contrast all originally recorded at first into the Roland  BR 800 8 tracker

Just basically recorded a gat tune to begin with along with a slightly rusty live drum track to accompany it as well as some shocking sounding vocal and a couple of hard synth bass and atmospheric tracks 
This is a song more or less about 3 topics

1, Our addiction to oil, Where its leading us and whats coming if we all still choose to make the inevitable still a low priority as a result,

2, Our slave cyclonic lifestyles through out the ages from which we have become accustomed into believing are an acceptable or even albeit natural part of life,

3,  A little more realistic view from a common sense perspective as to how it were we actually came to be to which even today scientist still seem partially baffled by the gap as well as brain size comparative leaps of  transitions from monkey to modern day man,
Which in a controlled environment here on earth such as the rift for example as scientist seem to refer to would have just been a process of mixing and integrating various types of DNA including there superior own into literally all walks of life some time ago to which an evolution of sorts,
Our evolution in this instance would have just come down to a process of trial and error of either getting it close enough or even wright for its, or Our intended purpose ,
Hence the different stages of earlier man,
Basically just connected some dots along with a missing link to fill the gap which I have always felt for some time nows to be one of the, If not most feasible possibilities ,
Well certainly the one that seems to make most sense to me anyways,

I can somehow see this as maybe ruffling a few feathers but then I would say that being all qwackers an all,

 Speaking also of whom's original ancestors e.g., Reptiles  DNA I feel were also tampered with previously before our time which equated in an out of control experiment potentially gone south and seeing an end to Dinosaurs potentially as the end result ?

Just basically a rough around the edges take of a tune as well as song I probably could have put more effort into but at the same time kind of liked the rawness of as well 

Pretty much a summary of how things may seem to be at times  but even still at the worst of such can always be overcome in which I have pretty much expressed from previous as well as even still current experiences whom I also feel that in some similar way shape or form that others may also be able to relate to as well from there own perspectives or previous as well as even current experiences also maybe as well,

As it don't have to be all doom and gloom if one don't wish for it to be
And just how important it is Ive found for one to really step up and give such real potential a real go in future

which as a result is mainly the device or tool of preference responsible for a lot if not most the demos on here that have ultimately eventuated ,

Even by having other more sophisticated or refined ways or means of which to record have usually always found it to be an incredibly convenient as well as practical portable means of on the go to moments notice of choice 

Which can be set up and put away all with in 5 to ten minutes which is what I have tend to have done quite often in the past only really concentrating on the newly creatively captured core based melody recollective recorded into just one track,
And then coming back to later to see if it still holds water and refining as well as improving and improvising more at a later stage if so 
 
The BR can also be utilized as an audio interface into a DAW perhaps at a later stage too which I also use for both ,

So is a good present as well as future proof means of investment and one I am sure to see anyone likeminded getting there monies worth 

But thats just my opinion going from what Ive found, 

Also another thing Ive tend to have done with only a couple of minutes to spare in some cases is simply record a basic sketch of an idea, warts and all on me phone with the use of an app which I think is meant to be used as a dictaphone which does the trick well ,then come back to practice and refine when more time permits , 

And then take it on again from there if such still seems to still show potential , 

Either into the BR - DAW or both which is what I tend to do for implementing live audio, as well as hard and soft synth instruments
