With the entry into the new Modern Era, we arrived in Italy. For this reason, apart from using the typical instrument of Neapolitan songs, the Mandolin, I have set this work within an entirely Mediterranean mix, with both Italian and Spanish rhythms and cadences within a modern harmonic structure. Thus, the parts of clapping and castanets I have treated in an atmosphere of "Bulerías".
The action begins early in the morning as you disembark on a Sicilian beach. Once we have investigated the environment, we start the march to the nearest city along rough but pleasant roads, where the scents of oregano and thyme accompany us on a pleasant march; At a certain point, the mandolins announce the proximity of a city, later we verify that it is a happy and fun population ...

Con la entrada en la nueva Era Moderna, llegamos a Italia. Recordemos que en aquella época, el Reino de Sicilia, el Reino de Nápoles y más tarde el Estado de Milán estaban bajo soberanía Española. Por esta razón, aparte de utilizar el instrumento típico de las canciones napolitanas, la Mandolina, he ambientado esta obra dentro de una mezcla enteramente mediterránea, con ritmos y cadencias tanto italianas como españolas dentro de una estructura armónica moderna. Así, la partes de palmas y castañuelas las he tratado en un ambiente de “Bulerías”.
La acción comienza por la mañana temprano al desembarcar en una playa de Sicilia. Una vez investigado el entorno, iniciamos la marcha hasta la ciudad más próxima por caminos agrestes pero agradables, donde los olores de orégano y tomillo nos acompañan en una agradable marcha; llegados a un punto, las mandolinas nos anuncian la cercanía de una ciudad, más tarde comprobamos que se trata de una población alegre y divertida…

Deeper Into Movies (Yo La Tengo cover)

I wrote this somewhat loopy lyrics, when it was announced on CNN that Joe Biden had won the race for president against Donald Trump. My hope for a return of a real democracy in the sense of Willie Brandt's " More freedom daring", which for me always also means more humanity, more tenderness, more creativity and ultimately more love daring, experienced a powerful upswing that evening. And so these lines of text with the basic message "Still Love is there" literally poured out of me.

Diesen etwas durchgeknallten Text schrieb ich, als auf CNN bekanntgegeben wurde, dass Joe Biden das Rennen um das Präsidentenamt gegen Donald Trump gewonnen hatte. Meine Hoffnung auf eine Rückkehr einer echten Demokratie im Sinne von Willie Brandts "Mehr Freiheit wagen", was für mich immer auch heißt, mehr Menschlichkeit, mehr Zärtlichkeit, mehr Kreativität und letztendlich mehr Liebe wagen, erfuhr an diesem Abend einen kräftigen Aufschwung.
