This is a practice session of my current live PA set using an Elektron Machinedrum UW+ and an Analog Four. Slight post in Ableton (for lack of a decent hardware compressor)

Live PA 2017 (middle part)

Phuong-Dan’s reputation as an amazing, fearless DJ showed again, when he transformed a pumping, post-Dekmantel festival RH store into a busy, but serene music documentation centre. After a short browse, the versatile DJ decided to play tidy, beautiful (sometimes even crystalline) ambient productions by contemporary artists as wel as classic cult greats.

For over a decade now, the Hamburg based DJ is both resident and host (of Gatto Musculoso)at legendary St. Pauli underground venue Golden Pudel Club. He is also strongly associated with Dusseldorf’s Salon Des Amateurs.  Phuong-Dan creates characteristic, very divergent atmospheres with his curious mixes, that go from techno, krautrock to rare disco and obscure experimental music.

This is the twentieth in a series of Rush Hour Store mixes, where we invite our favorite artists and DJs to dig the bins and record us a mix on the spot. Click on the links below for more info on the featured tracks.
