Hailing from Brusque, Brazil, Ricardo Hingst (known artistically as HNGT) is quickly becoming one of the country’s most exciting prospects. Raising his profile as a DJ and producer with performances at D EDGE, Elfortin, Terraza and Surreal, and releases on the likes of Createch and now Victor Ruiz’s VOLTA imprint, HNGT is well on his way to being one of Brazil’s leading electronic names.

HNGT’s debut on VOLTA is an impressive three-tracker showcasing a depth in musicality with a firm grasp on modern techno flavours. Beginning with the title track, ‘Rebel’ dives straight into hard-hitting rhythms and rippling resonance. "Make you Forget" was created after a long day of watching tutorials. I was in a learning phase to take my production to the next level. After achieving a solid base I then got inspired and started adding my own sounds together with classic rave stabs that always sound amazing in techno. I later recorded myself saying "darkness" and although a bit cliche for the genre, I like the fact that it is my voice in the track, making it unique. The breakdown is in tune with my musical taste, following the style of one of my previous releases, "Injection", i used a melodic synth that doesn't follow a linear note pattern, but instead has an accelerating, out of tempo arpeggio that slowly lures you into a powerful drop"
