R.EK is back with a new EP, set to release on the renowned EINMUSIKA RECORDINGS label on March 10th, 2023.

Known for his captivating techno music, characterized by warm melodies and distinctive beats, R.EK continues this tradition with this EP.
"The Balance" is a breathtaking track, given an extra touch of special by the vocals of NATASCHA POLKÉ.
The remix by the Italian duo THOMAS SCHWARTZ & FAUSTO FANIZZA adds another dimension to the release, rounding out the tracklist.

R.EK, NATASCHA POLKÉ and the italien duo are thrilled about the new EP and looking forward to presenting it to the listeners. "I'm very proud of this EP. ☞ About the set
After the "The Balance" EP was signed with the renowned label Einmusika Recordings,
with three tracks on it, he produced within three weeks an additional six songs specifically for this event, which he then converted into his live set. The live set follows the sequence of the EP, culminating in a grand finale with a monumental last track. From the very first song, R.EK showcases his extraordinary interpretation of techno music with melodic approaches.

In no time after finalizing the signing for R.EK's EP project, the eagerly anticipated release party was ignited by R.EK himself, alongside the illustrious Hive Club Zurich and the distinct party label Grundton.
Impeccably curating the lineup holds great significance for R.EK, driven by his unwavering dedication to greeting the audience with invigorating and soul-stirring melodies, ultimately guiding them towards an exhilarating crescendo.

For the release party, which took place on the Tanzifloor, R.EK invited the following artists and DJs:

For the Original Track «The Balance» he teamed up with swiss singer and producer Natascha Polké. It's a beautiful, melodic and calm journey with her outstanding voice
and a lot of little details. "Behind" is more groovy and reduced yet driving and with a catchy lead line. On top, he added a remix by Thomas Schwartz and Fausto Fanizza which works for the club with a strong beat and deep bassline.

"Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit begegnete Baba vor seinem Haus einem alten, heruntergekommenen, obdachlosen Yamaha DX-7. Alte Synthesizer aus den 80ern sind Baba sehr sympathisch, weshalb er den ziemlich verwirrten und zerkratzten Digitalpionier auf einen kleinen Jam ins seine Wohnung einlud. Seine Hoffnung, inspirierenden Klängen und aufregenden Geschichten zu lauschen, wurde nicht enttäuscht, obwohl der alte Herr auf Grund einer niemals gewechselten Batterie unter starkem Gedächtnisverlust zu leiden hatte. Einige inspirierende Fetzen dieses mehrstündigen Monologs über Italo Disco, Acid House und viele verpasste Gelegenheiten konnte Baba unbemerkt aufzeichnen und in diese kleine akustische Perle verwandeln - ein hektischer Versuch, all das Versäumte aufzuholen.“

Darkness pervades the hot room, as a friend takes your hand, and pulls you out of your unasked-for solitude. Passing people dancing to the deep bass, through that sweet smelling fog, you’re being lead to the dancefloor, where you can finally let yourself go, and become one with the music.

R.EK’s new track “Hold It” pays tribute to all the obscure club nights, when people—looking for a temporary fulfillment—find themselves in the middle of adventures. “Hold It” embodies this relentless quest, and the deep desire of being found.

About R.EK
Being resident DJ at Hive Club in Zurich, Switzerland for several years, R.EK has established a reputation as an artist who is able to capture the mood of the audience, and to incorporate it into his live DJ set. During the last two years, R.EK was working on fine-tuning his live sets, and he spent hours in his studio working on his own productions. The result thereof is a respectably sized repertoire—and some of these tracks are meant to see the light of day in the upcoming months.

Waiting is sort of an interim state that exists because of a future occurrence. But what kind of feelings are triggered if you realize that the anticipated event fails to occur? “I’m waiting for nothing.” Do you feel frustrated? Does the waiting period become a farce? Was it all for nothing?
“Waiting”, the latest track by melodic techno artist R.EK, addresses this ambiguous, hard to define emotional state. The staggering, driving bass line represents frustration; the catchy chord progression depicts despair. And every now and then, hope still shimmers through. 
In this instance, all the waiting wasn’t in vain. It was the seed for an infectious track that will resonate in your ears for a while.

The first notes of “Feys”, R.EK’s latest work and first single release in 2020, leave a volatile impression. The sound’s grace evokes the moment when you see a stranger’s face for the first time, when you inspect its details; cheek dimples, wrinkles on the forehead, a mysterious shade around the eyes.
With every passing second one discovers new details, striking passages taking turns with vulnerable sounds, and with every additional piece of the puzzle you’ll get closer to the core of this work. “Feys” heralds a new era for R.EK and introduces a new chapter for his label KnotenMusic—by uniting melodic techno with cinematic dramatics. In collaboration with Hannes Bieger, whose mixing adds a warm touch to the sound, R.EK is again pushing boundaries, and explores new grounds, where subtle, harmonious synthies and an enormous love for detail are paired to enable a new, distinct sound.
