Rip Currents is a reggae-hip hop duo from Jacksonville, Florida, made up of longtime friends Tyson Hurst and Andy Chamberlain. After a long hiatus from music, the two reconnected when Andy returned to Florida following his retirement from the military. What started as a laid-back idea to make music for fun quickly evolved into a passionate project with purpose.

Blending laid-back reggae rhythms with hip hop influences, Rip Currents creates music rooted in good vibes, positivity, and raw honesty—exploring themes of life, love, addiction, and the everyday struggles we all face. Without a permanent vocalist, Tyson and Andy have embraced the challenge themselves, pushing out tracks that reflect both their growth and deep bond.
