Stalwarts of the drum & bass scene for nearly three decades, London duo Loxy & Ink open up their 2022 account with a new single ‘Spray Trains Of Thought’.

The UK breakbeat pioneers have racked up an arsenal of releases for breakthrough labels such as Metalheadz, Hospital Records and Renegade Hardware, as well as their own Cylon Recordings and Architecture Recordings imprints.  Their sounds have been brought to countless dancefloors around the globe, and the pair have held down residencies at pivotal nights such as Metalheadz Blue Note sessions, Fabio & Bukem’s Speed and Renegade Hardware’s parties at The End.

Having already flexed their hip-hop credentials on last year’s ‘Manifested Visions’ on R&S, the duo return with another blazing lyrical delivery and raw production.  Drawing upon their influences from artists like KRS One, Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, NAS and Mobb Deep, ‘Spray Trains Of Thought’ hits hard, as astute rhymes come thick and fast over tenacious beats and brooding horn blasts, proving that Loxy & Ink have the versatility to work across genres with ease and always deliver some serious musical heat!

Accompanying track ‘Channel’ find Ink and Loxy back in familiar break beat territory, as they team up with regular collaborator, the Finish producer Resound, for a textbook heavy stepper.  Innovative breaks and throbbing bass frequencies hurtle forward at breakneck speed, with its vocal elements providing the warmth and soul in this smouldering production.

London based producer Vromm creates some wonderful beat science and future electronic jazz vibes on his debut recording for R&S Records.

With a penchant for UK bass and beats culture that has influenced him since the late 1980s, Vromm has released a steady stream of EPs over the last ten years for labels such as Critical Music, Over/Shadow, ThirtyOne Recordings and Om Unit’s Cosmic Bridge imprint.

On ‘Red Tuna’, Vromm opens a magic box of crunching breakbeat rhythms, dubwise reverberations and cold & jazzy synth licks for an impressively intelligent and modern track that dips into many electronic genres and becomes something truly unique.

Gilles Renneson - Kid Reflex

In May 2016, Trevino a.k.a. Marcus Intalex released his acclaimed debut album, ‘Front’, on his own Birdie label. Almost exactly seven years on, the follow-up album ‘Back’ will be released posthumously, marking the final Trevino album. The release date is scheduled for the 26th May to mark the six-year anniversary of Marcus passing (28th May 2017). 

Although most of the tracks for 'Back' were made during Marcus' time in Berlin, he moved back to Manchester in early 2017 to make the most of his home studio. The Trevino moniker was an output for Marcus to return to his love of house and techno, inspired by his experience of working in record shops from a young age where he would be receiving records spanning across Chicago house and Detroit techno - most notably referencing the Belleville Three as a key influence. 


The producer, named after his favourite golfer Lee Trevino, has loosely based the two-part album project on the ‘Front’ nine and ‘Back’ nine holes in the sport. This theme runs throughout, with the artwork based on the plans for Hillside golf course.

Back is released on 2x12" in Full Artwork Sleeve and Digital on May 26 2023.
