僕が今回AISOの制作にかけた想いは、

言うならば、小さな箱の中を覗くとそこには自分にしか見えない宇宙が広がっていることを体感する、
タイムトラベラーボックスであり、時間を忘れ己を見つめ返すことの出来るマインドスコープ。
僕が一番恋してやまないシンセサイザーと言う楽器の音色は壮大な宇宙を感じた事が何よりもこの長い活動の原点であり、
AISOにその思いを託してみたいと思った。
子供の頃に見たSF映画をもう一度初めて見るような、
そんな気持ちが蘇るような事を可能にさせる小さなマシン、手にしたときにワクワクが止まらない、そんな箱。
僕は音楽をアートや芸術として捉えることは少なく、そんな事よりももっとマジカルでファンタジックなことを何よりも重じてる。
原点回帰できる可能性を秘めた今回の作業は楽しくて仕方がなかった。
普段作り上げている音楽とは明らかに趣旨が違う。
これはここでしか繰り広げられない触れた者だけが体験出来る旅。
この宇宙への旅は再生するた度に行き先は違う。ワクワクしませんか？
誰しも自分は何者なのか？と疑う事がある。
僕たちは旅する宇宙の放浪者。
地球は決して辿り着いた唯一の場所ではなく通過地点。
僕がAISOに託した気持ちは聴く人の原点回帰を促すマインドトラベル。

HIROSHI WATANABE aka KAITO / ZERO GRAVITY TRAVEL / AISO

Electronic musician and sound artist Josep Kamaru, aka KMRU, takes us on our first December sonic journey.
Born in Nairobi and currently based in Berlin, KMRU is a sound artist and producer whose methods include field recording, improvisation, noise, machine learning, radio art and drones. With a paramount sound and visual sensibility, his work is reminiscent of ambient masters such as Lawrence English. KMRU’s sound though is uniquely positioned between the rarely-married cultures of ambient and African music, entwining his compositions with field recordings from his native Kenya and the surrounding countries of East Africa.

Self-releasing his productions, these have been received very enthusiastically by both critics and the audience. In 2020, he released three albums that showed the depth and range of his sound: Peel, an LP of hypnotic drones on the avant-garde institution Editions Mego; Opaquer, a collection of vivid and dreamlike sound sculptures; and Jar, a dreamlike cassette of found sounds and analogue ambience. KMRU hasn’t stopped in 2021 with a few more releases including Logue, an album Formed of tracks written from 2017 to 2019, which represents an artist not only in command of his form but also willing to develop and evolve, ready to deconstruct and radically refocus his music to explore new contours of experimental and ambient sound design.

This mix he shares is a liminal narrative of falling asleep, each track feels like an episode of a hypnagogic state. I’ve been thinking deeply about dreams and nostalgia this past week and these tracks evoke this feeling.

Ana Sechereș operates under the moniker of Ana Satana for all her edgy endeavors, may they be musical, organizational, mystical or just simply wireless.

She has been a selector in the Bucharest scene for a few years now and has dabbled a bit with the international one as well.

She plays regularly in local clubs and in the rest of the time keeps busy by organizing live acts in the past and the newly created Avoidance of Séance party series, with Platforma Wolff or working on radio shows for Noods Radio in Bristol, as ½ of Intersections, in the past and currently for Black Rhino Radio, monthly.

You might also see her take photos for small publications occasionally and still applies all her knowledge as a visual artist in everything she undertakes.

She has done streams, talks and is still very much open to any interesting propositions, especially ones that require dancing in the dark.

Curator and self made artist (music & graphic design), Sacha Mambo runs Macadam Mambo since it was created as a collective in 2008 and became later a label in 2012. DJ and digger for over two decades, his musical culture taps into a wide spectrum of influences, Sacha is one of those special selectors that manages to find the links between completely disparate styles of music and weave them together to create life changing moments and rich narratives, playing everything from Dub to New Beat, Early Rave to Cosmic Afro, post-Punk, Krautrock, Hip-hop or weird electronic sounds… his knowledge of rare gems and infectious oddball obscurities is second to none. But all of this is boring, Sacha is happy when you like and support the choices of Macadam Mambo in terms of music and releases, and the satisfaction that is to see a lot of young and less young people influenced by his work is the greatest reward to him.
