Yesterday I flew with my wings, I remember it well

Walking down 7th Avenue on October 28th 2023, around 6 pm. Even though it's autumn, the temperature is high. It feels like summer. It's very humid and the street is crowded.
My phone (tucked in my pocket) starts to record on its own when I reach Times Square. 

The resulting one and a half minute long recording is the material for this particular soundscape, which I think captures the eeriness and the uncanny feeling I had that day. All sounds were processed on a Roland SP-404A sampler and recorded live to a stereo track. Electric piano, effect pedals, non synchronized loops, two tube amps. Field recording: Electromagnetic waves made audible with Soma Ether. Spoken words: "Ariel" (Sylvia Plath, 1962), last verses, read by the author. All sounds (except Plath's reading) mixing and production: Velvet Something Superdark.
