1. Describe your style and influences?
 
My style revolves heavily around the UK rave culture. Any of the tracks that feel underground or classic will always be the first adds to my usb. The hot producers of UKG such as IPC, Silva Bumpa, or Bushbaby have a sound that honors classic dance tracks & brings a new wave of energy to a room. They have samples & baselines that I am very fond of.


2.  What was your favorite gig?
My favorite gig I’ve had was my first show for House on Tap! As a newcomer in the scene I look back fondly on that time when someone first entrusted me to get up there & do my thing. It was a really fun day.

3. What was your favorite DJ set ever attended?  
Favorite set of all time would have to be Andy C @ Drumsheds. I’m a sucker for some cheeky dnb :)

To celebrate the release of the Telepathic Fish compilation, we have a special ‘O Is For Orange 2025’ Bleep Mix from DJ Food.

"A version of this mix first appeared in 2013 at a night to celebrate the release of Boards of Canada’s ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest’ LP release. It then morphed into an Audio Video DJ set that I toured around the UK in 2019, playing the Bluedot festival to a packed tent that year. The idea was to thread Boards of Canada’s music with original sample sources, tracks they’d remixed, fan remixes or songs that fitted their sonic blueprint.

I recently resurrected and refined the mix for a gig booking, updating it into a new version. This happened to be a week before I was due to deliver my guest mix to Bleep and it seemed to be too good an opportunity to pass up. I abandoned the mix I was going to deliver and put down the first hour of the ‘Orange’ set including a video mix to go with it. I used stem splitting apps to deconstruct some of the tracks into unique versions before video mixing it all on turntables using Serato then editing the footage in Premiere." - @strictly

B From E conveys his modern take on early techno and breakbeats spiked with trance elements on “The Year 8080” for his own, resurrected Buddahood imprint. 

Deep atmospheres, sharp melodies and uplifting energy are the main ingredients of the sound of B From E, the housier moniker of the danish producer and musician Frej Levin. With room for variety, he has created a playground in favour of trancey detours inspired by US techno and early European house music. The encounter between ghetto music and the mindset of finding altered states through an endless, timeless trance is what Frej invites us into - namely his buddha "hood".
