The Range of Torah - Flexibility in Practice

One might be quick to think that the Torah was given only to the Jewish people, so what role does it have for the rest of the Nations of the world? The following is a discussion between Yoel Leib and Rabbi Smith which addresses the relevance of Torah to all of humanity as well as discusses the redaction of the Shulchan Aruch (code of Jewish Law). It starts with Yoel Leib presenting a number of thoughts and reflections, and then Rabbi Smith responding to and addressing the different issues and questions he raised.

Messianic Times, Redemption and the Role of the Jew outside the Land

Having just finished the month of Kislev, the month of Chanukah, the story of how the Jews went out to War to prevent their annihilation.

At the moment the modern state of Israel also finds itself in a state of War.

The theme of War is thus a very appropriate one to discuss.

The Rambam says in Laws of Kings 7:4 that in an obligatory war all go out to the effort, including both the bride and the groom‽ This seems confusing and puzzling as it suggests women being involved in war. In this discussion we tackle what this issue is really all about!

Seeing G-d in Every Adventure

In a previous post we shared the stories of disseminating the Tanya (Shaar haYichud v’haEmunah) with Arabic translation in the Holy Land. We have also occasionally made reference to the project we have been working on, Yeshivat L’Ohr Goyim, a fulfillment, with G-d Al-mighty’s help, of the Rebbe’s wish that Yeshivas be established for the nations of the world based on the 7 Universal Noahide Commandments and the principles of Hashem’s Unity (as detailed in Shaar haYichud v’haEmunah). In this post the listener is presented with the back-and-forth conversation that lead to the birth of this project.

Birth of a Yeshiva: The Beginnings of Yeshivat L'Ohr Goyim

For those not aware Rabbi Smith and I had the pleasure being involved in the reprinting of the 2nd book of the Tanya Shaar haYichud v’Haemunah which includes an Arabic translation.

Due to the nature of our involvement we received a number of copies to distribute to local Arabs living in the Holy Land. This audio is a collection of the discussions that took place over the course of a month and a half and is related to me relaying the stories from my adventures in distributing the Tanya to my neighbors and delighting in their responses.
