As an emerging artist, Raben Taylor, (pronounced: Robin) is faced with the dilemma of attaining her own fan base on a shoestring budget. In 2015, Raben attempted to break through into the music industry directly with her music. While achieving notable success after just dropping 2 singles the 22-year old Neo-Soul singer decided that she would take a different route moving forward. Raben combined her two loves, Music and makeup; starting a Beauty Channel on YouTube featuring all original music to cultivate a fan base for not only her music but for her personality as well.
     Musically, Raben Taylor differs from most singers of today with her rich and soulful voice. Raben captures emotions found within melodies to accentuate both the joys and the sorrows of life.
     While growing up, Raben listened to a wide variety of musical genres going back to the classic Rock & Roll of the 60s all the way to the Hip-Hop and R&B of the present day. "I was deeply interested in the melodies and the intense emotions that could be felt from all music."
     Her personal style of music bares similarities to artists like Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, and India Arie, or more recent artists like Sza, Her, and Jhene Aiko. Besides rich, soulful vocals, Raben likes to place a big emphasis on a strong bassline and heavy drums; which helps her to stand out from other R&B and Neo-Soul artists. Her music is like listening to Jhené Aiko's soulful vocals over The Weeknd's hard production. Another important element is her ability to vividly paint a picture filled with multi-layered and relatable messages.
     Raben Taylor's music resonates with people emotionally. As her music continues to stand out in a saturated market and remain unplagued by any claims that it sounds like someone else, she will be a driving force in the industry. Raben has released two singles to date, her debut single, "Hidden" and her new song "More Than". Currently, Raben Taylor is working on new music for a cohesive freshman album, with a release slated for early 2019.
