Plucks & Pad & Speed Limit [featuring Noodle Twister and Henk Lasschuit] (Disquiet0610)

Time stretch modes as lofi rhythmic filters. 4 tracks are slowed to 1/2 speed and cut into short segments. Each segment repeatedly shifts between time stretch modes to create timbral variations.

Jovian Sferics [disquiet610]

I decided to use the pieces by Forelight, Fake Genius and RadMusicLab which I loaded into my 1010Music Bitbox. After slowing them all down to half speed and subjecting them to some granularity I basically did a couple of improv sessions, triggering portions of the three samples using the touch interface of the 1010 and then adding some melancholic notes from the Terra, along with a bit of electric shocks from the Landscape HC-TT.

For this remix, I worked with a handful of tracks from the 0609 collection that I gravitated towards, chopping + processing them in Paulstretch, Twisted Wave, and Ableton Live to halve their speeds.

'Blink' by https://soundcloud.com/analoc became a melodic anchor that the rest of the remix was built around. It was interesting to listen to the results of slowing + pitching the original tracks down. Sometimes I would sample the original speed version, and others I would first slow down before stumbling onto something that clicked well with the composition.
