Helloo everyone— I recently added a G3 and E3 to the bright append on the flustered vb. Not a very flashy or interesting update, but it will help support the lower range when you use the bright append.

This leaves just 3 pitches left to record and oto before we're done ! (Though, I might re-record parts of the new pitches if need be)

About The Song

This song has obviously had very significant meaning to most Vocaloid listeners for a long time, and likewise it's always been significant to me.

I consider it one of the few Vocaloid songs that are truly timeless, and wowaka is still one of my favorite producers. Even long after his death, I feel that he is unparalleled, and there may never be anyone who is truly equal to his sound.
Though this isn't my favorite song by him, it is certainly his most iconic one, and it's been a long time since I saw a brand new cover of it that really did it justice.

Cillia's cover of it with Mawarine Shuu is actually the entire reason I got into UTAU in the first place— so once again, we've made a cover that brings us full circle, LMAO.

Even now, there is still a viscerally relatable feeling to the thought of the protagonist endlessly chasing their hopes and dreams, yet they always feel so far away no matter how hard they try. But even when they fall and hurt themself, they try again.
A lot of people interpret the ending to be the Rolling Girl deciding to kill herself, and they interpret the boy who's with her to be the manifestation of depression.

But instead I like to imagine that the person who holds the girl in the end is someone who cares about her. 

Yes, he is presented in the beginning as if he were cruel, or hurting her, but I feel like that is how we sometimes view the people who try to help us when we're depressed. We often interpret their attempts to get us to stop doing harmful and self destructive things as attempts to hurt us and hold us back.

But notice that that section of the PV is all in black and white, but when the Rolling Girl finally accepts the boy's embrace, that is the only time the PV is full of color.
I imagine that saying she must be tired and asking her to stop her breath, he's telling her to finally rest and stop hurting herself in pursuit of success. 

Anyway, that's the idea I went with for this cover at least.

About Production

PHEW, this cover was a looong time coming. I tuned it years ago, but I had such trouble mixing with the original version. Then, I found out that my favorite remix of the song had an official instrumental that you could buy on bandcamp— so I did !

I was originally planning on a simple PV, but when I commissioned art from Awoito, they surprised me with an entire sequence ! I couldn't let all that amazing work go to waste, so I set to making a full PV, and that took me a few weeks too LMAO

But now, it's finally all done, and I'm satisfied with how it all turned out

This is an English Arpasing VB that I randomly decided to make to see how an english accent would go through UTAU (or rather, if i could make it more prominent), lmao, sorry if it sounds odd.

Cus of the accent, it is a bit finnicky, as well as the fact that it's only pitches F3 to E4. So, i'd say to get it to sound exactly like this it takes some finagling.

I recommend using this VB only with tn_fnds because it is very breathy and usually that's the only resampler that can handle it.

I named it Bastille to fit in with the whole Prince Tarou set of VBs, because I figured it made sense for him to have an English accent then LEL

The drawing is not technically a drawing of Prince Tarou but he is in a fantasy setting so.....same flavor

It's not done yet, but I thought a beta release would be a good way to bring in the new year LMAO. Whether Tarou curses or blesses the year, we'll have to wait and see

【岩田太郎Flustered】UTAU Beta Demo +VB +YT

The song is about a real little girl (rorochan_1999) who did livestream herself jumping to her death. I initially felt conflicted about this song because in a way, I felt like it capitalized on or romanticized the tragedy. 

But it is actually because of the song that more attention was brought to the case and information regarding her internet presence was discovered. Before that, the tragedy was almost forgotten about. I also feel that songs about such things are important so that people going through it won't feel so alone or misunderstood as rorochan did. 

I don't think the song has come from a place of sensationalism, but rather a sense of sympathy in relating to her position.

So, I hope that if you relate to her feelings that you can see by example that she was never alone in them.

It's disrespectful in my opinion for people to aestheticize the event or "kin" rorochan or anything like that. I recently lost someone to suicide and I can't describe how disturbing that would be. 

So, please don't be disrespectful

I've had this ust completed for awhile, but I had no illustration for it so that's why I'm only releasing it now.

This song is very tragic and I have somewhat conflicting feelings about it, but it's also very cathartic and really captures the feeling of a type of familiar trauma, so it has a place in my heart.

I also made the cover when I was really really mentally unwell so I was like, "maybe I shouldn't cus it's bad vibes" but now I'm fine so like whatever LKDKL.

It's a bit messy cus of that, though. Some of it is slightly off time, but it's easy to chop around.

I made the off vocal artificially with vocal remover, I left it in the folder.

The song also has no actual harms, so I just rendered the melody with other utau to create a "chorus" effect similar to the original song.

I also changed some of the pronouns in the lyrics (changing shoujo to shounen etc.) I believe I changed it back to the original lyrics in the ust but I'm unsure honestly.
