This is a poem written by our very own Wil Vincent, to describe his thoughts of Motor Racing's greatest month.

May, May, May
Oh beautiful month of May
Here we are again
We always wish that you could stay

Now that spring has truly blossomed
Once again we're here
In this most spectacular of months
Where we watch, see and cheer.

Because whilst the madness of march is over
And football may be a way away
For us, the motor racing fans
This month will always hold our sway

There's racecars competing across the land
In venues far and wide
And battles, competition 
That famous 'side by side'

And whilst to some you are a peaceful month
With the longing for summer in the air
For us, the greedy racecar fans
There's battles everywhere

We start up in the mountains
Spa is the tracks name
One more race before Le Mans
Those beasts, they’re now untamed

The F1 cars, they enter Europe
Spain is calling first
Then off to Monaco they go
With champagne to quench the thirst

For NASCAR fans it's simple;
To Charlotte where the walls are yellow;
But first there's Dega and Kansas
Where things are anything but Mellow.

The Touring cars, they’re in action
Some choose to keep it local
The racing is fierce and action aplomb
Be it at home or be it global

Then beyond the Wabash you hear her
The old lady she awakens
The track called Indy, the Brickyard,
From Where most of the bricks have long been taken

She rises with such grace.
A Grand Prix first these days
Then off to fast paced qualifying
Which leaves drivers in a daze

Slowly the crescendo rises,
One week before the month is out
Behold! The greatest weekend in racing
Is here to talk about

We start it off in Monaco
Where the walls close in tight
Overtaking is often hard,
But those cars, will still put on a fight

Then after that we recognise 
History at its finest
The 500 they call it, the greatest
But the race has never been the kindest

200 Laps 500 miles 
Of heart stopping action
But make sure on that final corner
That those tyres still give you traction

Milks for winners! They'll proclaim
As the wreath goes around the neck,
But wait we've barely begun!
On this one day mammoth trek.

There's other action everywhere
In cities, countries worldwide!
So grab a beer! and take a seat
And keep your nerves down by your side

As day turns to evening 
NASCARs race is the longest yet
600 long and winding miles
The target that's been set.

As evening turns to nightfall
The laps pound on and on
Till victory lane's upon us
We salute the one who’s won.

Then afterwards it quietens
We have the realisation
That may will soon be gone
Almost time for our vacations

We'll bid you well, and reminisce
The moments that we've seen
And remember one and for always
May; the month of racing dreams
